Default Early morning awakening

How many of you SAD sufferers have this problem?

I can't seem to find anything that stops it and am wondering if anyone has the problem and has found something to help it? I really get sick of waking up 3:30 or so every morning in the winter. I have even tried waiting longer to go to bed and that doesn't help either.

Thanks, everyone.

Post early waking

Hi,
I am often awake between 2-4 AM and it is a pain especially when one can't go back to sleep.
The things that will work for me is a portable tape or disc player (with ear phones) and listening to a progressive relaxation or meditation music in bed. Sometimes if I get out of bed and go into another room and meditate for 15-20 min this will also help...also just laying in bed and watching my breathing and focusing on that.
Sometimes NOTHING helps but the above methods probably work about 75% of the time.
Hope this helps,
Nancy

I wake every night, and get up and go to the loo, and then have a sip of water before lying down again.
Then, like Nancy, i concentrate on my breathing. Sometimes i count slowly through each breath in and breath out, trying to relax my body.
usually works.
good luck
