When I had my transplant, they were telling me I could go back to eating normal AKA fries and cheese burgers, cookies, enjoy life. With in moderation of course. Thank god I took things into my own hands and went KETO, LCHF, and fasting.
They say nothing to me when I tell them what I am doing, WHY? Cause all my 50 plus Labs that are drawn are PERFECT on LCHF with mild walking. You would think a Top 5 transplant center would guide me to sad but they tell me to keep things up.
I even go to the heart transplant gatherings ato see people and the food they serve is so bad. Pastas, Breads, Cakes, fried foods, and so on each time. I went to one place and there was food that I was not going to touch on my LCHF fasting lifestyle. they asked me if I had to eat special, I was quick and told the kitchen yes. They grilled me 2 nice juicy chicken breast with slat and pepper and I had green beans. Some time you have to lie lol .

Bravo! Thanks for sharing your story. Given your positive recovery, they weren't going out on a limb to change what you're doing given your results. Safe to say, they would have been speechless if they knew how you were eating. At the same time given your experiences at transplant gatherings, it's incredibly frustrating that healthy recovery after such a major procedure is compromised by such a potentially damaging selection of foods. It's not surprising that this is the case. Physicians plan and perform the procedure, the post-op support groups are influenced by the status quo, which is primarily our typical SAD approach with healthy vegetable infused pasta and desserts that provide a "nice balance." Sorry, but what BS. That certainly wouldn't work for me either.
