Default Chicken Tortilla Soup

I have a question...I made some Chicken Tortilla Soup yesterday for dinner and had some at lunch today....Anyway, here are the ingredients and I'm just wondering if you think it's high in carbs? Trying to make "low carb" recipes is freaking me out...so, just tell me what you think.

8 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 1/2 cups diced tomatoes
1 med chopped onion
1 TBS crushed garlic
1 tsp chili powder
2 tsp cumin
2 bay leaves
4 corn tortillas (chopped)

You take the tortillas and garlic and sautee in olive oil (2 TBSP) for two minutes, add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes. You then pretty much strain everything until you have just the broth and discard the rest.

I added some roasted chicken, avacado and 2 TBS shredded cheese as toppers.

The only thing I think is not "low carb" is the tortillas....but I dumped them with everything else, after I simmered for 30 minutes....

Any guesses?

tortillas are very high carb. You can buy low carb tortillas though to use.

That or just leave them out. Since you are just starting it might be easies to follow an actual plan for a little bit, just until you get accustomed to what is and isn't allowed and how to do the carb counting. Then once you've gotten a good foundation, start to create your own plan.

Yes, I discarded them anyway. Wasn't sure about the other ingredients.
