Question Swiss Chalet

Help Guys...My work just ordered lunch from Swiss Chalet. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast and veggies. I then went on the swiss chalet nutritional web site and found that it was 91 carbs. They include the rice with that though and I asked for it without the rice. However on the website it says that the rice is only 49 carbs so there is 42 carbs that I am missing somewhere. Is this okay to eat and is the sauce really that many carbs?
Just wondering if anyone knows!
Thanks Guys!

That is why I always order a quarter chicken with a salad... I do not eat the dipping sauce or bun.

The side salad is 7 grams of carbs but is so big I spilt it in half and eat the rest the next day with ranch dressing which is 0.9 grams of carbs.. They give you two so you have one for the rest of the salad when you eat it

Swiss chalet is sooo yummy! I think it would be fine as long as there is no dipping sauce used or the rice.

The Chalet Sauce is NOT high in carbs (compared to say BBQ sauce). I used to dip my chicken in the sauce all the time and I was losing like crazy. I don't remember the actual amount, but it was definately within acceptable limits.

Swiss Chalet rotisserie chicken is zero carbs, the regular dipping sauce has only 4.4g carbs per 100g serving, which is one of those little bowls. The grilled chicken is higher because the bbq sauce has sugar in it ... According to the chart, an order of ribs (meat only) is 3.0 to 10.0g carbs depending on the portion size .. I seriously doubt that chicken would be any higher than that.

Actually I just looked at the nutritional page again ... and in wee tiny print at the bottom, it says "includes flatbread". So that's where the extra carbs are accounted for.

So .. if you didn't eat the rice or bread, you're fine

The sause is not that carby to have some,,,a little is ok, not the entire container or anything as it is, too salty,.,

Ask for their nutritional book, with the carb counts of all the foods and keep it, do this at wendys, mcdonald, etc...they all have them right at the cash.

I lost ok with the sause, and I used to order allot, its has been a long time now.

They have a great garden salad, hugh, fresh, way better than the boring cesaer salad. but,, the cesaer salad dresssingis lower in carbs than ranch.
and thats the one I get for my garden salad

Default So what the heck is in Swiss Chalet sauce

I remember from my weight watcher days, that Swiss Chalet sauce was not very high fat. So if it is also low carb, what the heck is in it?? It tastes way to yummy to be both low carb and low fat??.

I just went to Swiss Chalet again - I love that place- and they have a low carb menu now. 1/4 chicken or 1/2 chicken with salad and carb approved veggies...everyone is getting on board!! Is diet coke okay to have in restaraunts? When it comes from a machine does it have the same nutritional info as a can???

The only problem with the roasted veggies is that they SUCK! Took my Mum there for Mother's Day (she loves Swiss Chalet) and I barely touched the veggies - overcooked and they all tasted the same (some marinade that was too strong, I think). I would have been better off with chicken and salad!

I couldn't agree more, Jeanyyy - the veggies are gross. I've had them at the Overlea location. They're those same soggy veggies that East Side Marios serves, which I've had at Eglinton Town Centre and Collingwood. I find them not only flavourless, but downright unpleasant. You just can't saute zuccinni & serve it 4 hours later. They should try some more "sturdy" veggies - like steamed broccoli, cauliflower, & green beans. I too prefer the chicken & salad option.

But hey, I just had steak & sliced tomatoes for lunch at Hy's, so maybe I'm spoiled.
