Default Help!!!

Hiya folks,

I could do with a little help here or maybe I just need to moan a while. I have officially been quit smoking for 3 weeks and in that time have put on about 3 stone........ok ok I'm exagerating somewhat but it feels like 3 stone. The crappy carbs I have been eating you wouldn't believe and I feel lousy but at least I ain't smoking.

I was doing Atkins before I quit although I had been in a stall for some weeks. I have gotta get back on track with it. I am to play Anita in west Side Story in June and really need to lose the best part of 2 stone (3 would be better) to be in the right shape for this role.

Ok so I've moaned now. Please help me get back on track folks. I gotta do this before it gets any worse.

Blessed Be
Liz xxx

Hi Liz,
It's great that you haven't smoked in 3 weeks, you're doing so well. When I quit I went to chewing sugarless gum, I know it has a few carbs per stick, but it was better than eating food and other carbs. It will be a year March 24th since I haven't smoked, I had gained 8lbs and have lost it again. Give yourself time, even if you do gain a little bit of weight it will come off when your body adjust, the benefits of not smoking outweigh putting on a few pounds. My advise is chew gum, drink a lot of water and do a some exercise when you get cravings, it gets easier as the days go by.

Good Luck to you!!!!!
Louise
