Default L-carnitine side effects?

I am taking 500mg L-Carnitine Base (free-form),I copied this off the label,2x per day and CoQ10 60 .I take 1 one day and 2 the next.My drugstore doesnt sell it in 100 or 50.
I want to add 1 more L-Carnite daily next week.
I am wondering if there are any side effects from this?
I have been getting a nurvouse feeling(I have always refered to it as my dentist tummy cause Im scared to go to the dentist).
Its kind of like a need to breath deeply and maybe have a couple of strong drinks...
Is this normal?
Will it go away?
Also since I have started taking the CoQ10 I havent been as relaxed at bedtime.I kind of feel like I should be lifting weights or doing some tummy crunches...using my body muscles(its not restless leg syndrome)
Help me please...
I am taking a bunch of other vitamins and stuff but the funny feelings only started when I added the CoQ10 with the L-Carnitine...which was about a week later
Sorry that this is so confusing,I hope someone can understand it

Question side effects

Dear 2much, how are you? What blasted weather we are having these days, eh? Will summer ever come?

I know the feeling you mean. I get this tightness and anxiety if I have too much coffee. In fact, I can't take any of these so called thermogenics like green tea. Make me very tense. (like the dentist)

However, I have been taking CO10 plus L-Carn everyday and have had no bad effects at all. That's me tho', everyone is different. I suggest that you stop ALL supplements, even the vitamins, and one by one re-introduce them. That is the only way to know what is bothering your system. Sort of the way they do allergy tests.

Vit b makes me stay up all night. I take it in very small doses just in the morning. I take L-Carn and CO10 only in the morning too. Mainly cause the L-Carn is so expensive!!!

I also find that being in ketosis also gives me that feeling. Are you eating enough? Nice to meet you. See ya soon, pray for sun, my lawn is a foot long.

HL

Hello
My suggestion is to take the carnitine by itself 500mg we sell it at GNC only 1 aday. Coq10 is good but it does give some people energy. There are no side affects that I have heard of with either one. Its best to take supplements like that seperate. Also the best way to go is the liquid.

GNCLCGirl

I see you in many posts with recommendations on products.
Having worked in the health food industry for over 10 years, is it wise for you to personally recommend products? Shouldn't you only go by what the manufacturer recommends?

Unless you are a physician or pharmacist you need to be careful.

Thanks to everyone for there in put...
I am confused though...why does Dr Atkins say to take 1500mg L-Carn and 100C0Q10?Or did I not understand properly?
The funny feeling has gone, but I havent been in ketosis for quite a while either.
Do you think i will ever get the hang of this?

Back to the original topic, it seems l-carnitine is safe at the mentioned doses here:

http://www.supplementwatch.com/supa...supplementId=67

On the flip side of the coin, here's some interesting medical data regarding carnitine deficiency:

Love that first clinical manisfestation: Sudden Death, no warning there, heh.

I work ~ GNC but I am also a nutrition specialist. I don't prescribed I only suggest based on my own experience just like anyone else. Because I work at GNC makes my statements no different than anyone else on this board. I am here to help and give support. Also My statement on the dosage of carnitine is what it is on the bottle it was not my recomendation. I never make claims.
