Hello, Dean. Tell us something about yourself: how did you find us? What are your goals?

Glad to meet you.

Thanks to both for welcome me on the forum.I am searching for information for my wife as she is getting heavy day by day. Even she is not bothering to get any information for her own health.

Well, Dean. Since this is an advice forum, let the advice begin.

If your wife hasn't asked you to research weight management techniques, you're in for disappointment. Nobody can do the work for her. Especially her husband.

If she has asked you, bring her here to sign up for herself, and also to a site called Dietdoctor. There you/she will find the best guidance for a healthy way of eating for BOTH OF YOU. No advertising. Just brilliant instructions for a low-carbohydrate plan that works. And it's FREE.

Also, if you are not already the shopper/cook in the family, step up. The one who cooks gets to choose the menu.

Meanwhile, assure your wife that you love her exactly as she is, right now, every day. If she seems to have a problem with depression, then encourage her to see a physician. Otherwise...NO NAGGING, NO HELPFUL ADVICE. It won't work, and she'll only feel worse. And so will you.

I wish my husband had done this. He wasn't too naggy, but he made it plain he didn't care much for fat me. Now that I'm down to what is for him an acceptable weight, I've become suspicious of his compliments. If I gain weight, I know those nice comments will go away.

Also, your advice about depression - most of us can't deal with that alone. Or rather, we deal with it alone with food.

Great advice! I'll take some of that!
