Default Hello

I am a 45 year old female. As of today I weigh 196 pounds. I can't really say I have stuck to any diet program long enough to find out what works. I am a stress eater for sure and that usually is my downfall. Everyone talks about Keto diets now. I got kind of overwhelmed reading all the different websites. I am definitely a "keep it simple" girl. I trotted over to the Atkins website and liked that the info gets straight to the point. I am going to try the 40 program.
If anyone has tips for ending stress eating please share!

WELCOME !!

ATKINS is my prefered plan. The old plan.

Be sure to give the plan time to work. Weight loss is a slow process. Lol

Stress. Yup. Had my share of binges. Usually ice cream. Love Ben n Jerry's. Learning to manage stress is an active process to find what works for you. Induldging in eating ( did I mention eating a whole pint of Ben n jerry's) is a normal reaction. Learning to sidestep is a life skill.

I taught my kids a simple technique. Breath thru nose and say "I am......" , hold a moment, let out breath thru mouth , thinking "...... ppeeeeeace." It works.

Otherwise figure out what causes the stress. For me , it was finances. DH and I attended Financial Peace. And now work together on money matters.

Hope thats not too much information.....

We all have hiccups to overcome and manage.

Welcome Kami!

Atkins is a great place to start. Please read the book and follow it. It is so much more than just eating meat and cheese and that's what it seems a lot of people do without knowing why they are following the plan. Knowing the "why" will help you stay on track and make progress.

Best of luck along the way and feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
