Default Going Low Carb Again

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum. The first time I did low carb I did Atkins about 6 years ago and it worked, but I couldn't stick with the diet. Then in January of this year I decided to start a low carb diet again. It worked, but I tended to give in to cravings, I am a college student that lives with 3 other college students and all they eat is high carb junk food, so sometimes it is just too hard to resist. Well I decided a few months ago just to cut down my calorie intake, but guess what... I have gained weight!! AHHH!! So I have decided to start back on low carb again on Sunday October 31st. Halloween, boo! Anyways I have heard, and experienced, that each time you go low carb again it gets more difficult to lose weight. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else out there, and if anyone knows of any tricks to help this problem. One other question I have is about alcohol, I know, I know... you aren't supposed to drink during the first few weeks of doing low carb, but I am in college and I like to drink, that is what we do on weekend nights, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any good cocktails or anything... other than the rum, vodka etc... mixed with diet soda, cause I really don't like those drinks. I know all about the low carb beer too which isn't bad but even those carbs can really add up. Well I just wanted to say Hello to everyone, and please reply if you can answer any of my questions, thanks a bunch!!

Hey, and welcome. Im a college student living w/three carboholics as well. haha. Gotta use that willpower to stay away from their food, and know u are donig something good for yourself. as far as drinking goes, those beers DO add up, even if htey are low carb. so stay away from them, or treat urself once a month. other than that, try to enjoy diet soda and rum, etc. you'll get used to it, and happier how u look at those parties anyways! (hehe!) hope some of this helped

Default I realize this post is about 3 months old but...

I definitely feel it's been harder to lose weight after the first attempt. I was down to 143 pounds before I went away to school. The first few months I was eating crap but I gained nothing. Between Thanksgiving and New Year's, I gained about 20 something pounds. I almost died. I keep falling off and on. I can't wait for summer to get here. First, I'm graduating and secondly I get to have better access to Atkins friendly food.
