Trig- Very excited for you and your trip! Two weeks of vacay- that is wonderful! You will have a great time whether the weather agrees with you guys or not.

Those shrimp sound delish! YAY for the scale being down too!

Lori- Green Chef is clearly a big hit for you! Glad you found it and gave it a try!

So what happens now, after the Dr messed up with his orders? Have you heard anything since?

Blue- So glad you are enjoying the pool so much and getting into an exercise pattern and rhythm. That's great!

And HAHAHA on the geese! I would have about crapped myself like a duck (duck duck GOOSE!)

Greg- Congrats on 188! Well done! And I think an apple, all told, was a good choice. Yes it has sugars but plenty of fiber and good nutrients. FAR better than many choices you could have made. I applaud you!

Jaz- Congrats on another pound down. You are doing really well! I hope you are having a good time with your friend!

What is the news you were going to share??

••••••

Happy Friday and last day of Junior year and now he's a senior and we survived it!!! lol

Easy day today. Going to do a walk, probably a lake walk. Picking DS20 up around 8:30 tonight so he can come home for the weekend.

DS17 is doing something or another with his hair today. I made him an appointment so he doesn't ruin it and it all falls out. He said he wants to get it colored- at first I thought he meant like purple or something but he said bleached or blonde or whatever. Dunno. It's his hair and I am happy for him to do that vs the many other things he could choose to be doing. I *did* make him run it past his Dad though bc one year I gave the boys Mohawks and DH was so mad about it. I'm more laid back about stuff like that- I knew it would grow out over the summer.

Not much else to report. First quiet day of the week!

Lori- I want to here how to make the cod cakes better. This is what I am getting Sat from Green Leaf. Saturdays will be my delivery day I choose:
ITALIAN SAUSAGE “PAPPARDELLE”
Yellow squash “noodles” & grape tomatoes, kale salad
CAJUN COD CAKES
Kale salad with bell pepper, cucumber & lemon-herb vinaigrette
PORK WITH LEMON-BASIL CAPER SAUCE
Sautéed cauliflower, bell pepper, almonds & feta cheese

Next week I am choosing chicken/ Salmon/ and pork. I will give it a go for a couple weeks. All meals are under 20 carbs- and that is my only meal.

Girl- I just can't fathom the run around you are getting- but I can and see it everyday! What is is the plan for Monday?
I am glad at least you are getting out for some fresh air! - You are not a whiner or a depressive person. I think the fact you are not being heard is an issue! - anything on the weekend agenda?

NIC- I am really excited to hear how your training went! You had me giggling over the snacks in the ladies room! Other than that- how did the training go?!?!?-
Yea- on the boy being out of school!!!!!- what are his plans for his summer?

TRIG
- hoping that you have awesome weather. You ready to go?

Good Morning!

Jaz....I think adding a beaten egg to the cod cake mixture would make it more cohesive. I had a bit of trouble with them falling apart in the pan when trying to flip. Also, chopping up the raw cod into small pieces was tedious. Although......after you cook it and let it cool, you can get your hands in there and break it down to more the same size as the onions and celery that you chopped small. I wear food safe disposable gloves when I work with meat, so forming the cakes was not too messy.

You picked different meals than I did....let me know how you like everything. I'm sure eating more veggies than I usually do....I've been enjoying the salads this week.

I have a couple errands to run today and DH & I may do some work outside when he gets home. We need to scrub the front porch and the outside furniture etc. I usually do it myself, but with this bum wing, I need a bit of help.

Speaking of bum wing...I have heard nothing else from the Dr's office. I have an appt on Monday and I'm hoping he has a suggestion for a test now that the MRI is a no go. Certainly not a bone scan to check for a stress fracture!! Not sure whose chart he was looking at, but it wasn't mine! It may be time to look for another Ortho specialist. That decision will be made on Monday.

I have resumed doing some moderate exercises with my arm as it was feeling so crampy yesterday. It feels better today. Reaching up above my head is still not good, and reaching behind my back is impossible. Just taking it as it comes.

Ok....gotta fly. Errands are calling my name. Have a great Friday everyone!

Shoulder report!

Got a call from the Dr's office about my appointment on Monday and she asked if I had my MRI....sigh.....so, I went thru the whole story with her about how I had called and there was some miscommunication somewhere. She was very nice and said to hold on while she went and talked to the nurses. I was on hold for a little bit and she came back to tell me that the Dr. wants me to have an Arthrogram & a CT scan with contrast. Evidently, he had that on my record, but no one called to tell me. Sigh again. So....next Thursday I get those 2 tests done and then see the Dr. on June 24, when he's back from vacation. I leave for the cruise with my sister on the 27th, so at least I'll have the results by then.

I'm hoping everything looks ok and I can just push thru the discomfort to work on getting my mobility back. I'm willing to do that, just need to know that I'm not making things worse by pushing it.

So.....there you go. Finally!

No good on the challenge for me today. Tomorrow will be better.

Have a good night!

Hi all.

Steady---Yeah, you've been doing so well I wouldn't worry a bit about an apple. We are all eating in the VLC spectrum so if it bumps up over 30 now and then no biggie imo, particularly when its as healthy as an apple in many ways. Sometimes I crave fruit, usually have the lower carb berries but the other day all we had around was an apple, so I had half of it w/some excellent cheese. It was a great little snack/lunch in a good LC day so what the heck.

Trigger---Oh, I love those big meaty shrimp! I usually buy the jumbo sized shrimp, worth the extra $ to me. I bet you're getting yours a lot fresher than I'm getting mine, and that makes a diff.

On the cocktail sauce---do you do Ketchup? Ever tried Heinz low sugar Ketchup? Add a bit of horseradish and lemon to that and you've got yourself a pretty LC cocktail sauce.

Yay on 1/2 pound down, we'll take it, right?!

Jaz---Is your friend still there? Hope you guys are having fun. It's so nice that he's a LC guy and interesting that that's how you met. Usually a guest from out of town can put one to the woe test, but you don't have to worry about that w/him. What have you guys been doing?

I think you said you'd lost another half pound/pound too. YAY.

Nic---I so feel for you in your CASA position when you have to accept that terribly sub standard is the best a kid is getting. That would pinch the hell out of my heart too.

On the time you gave the boys Mohawks and the hubby blew his stack---just made me giggle, although I'm sure it wasn't funny eat the time. But I'm w/you, when it comes to how they express themselves in how they dress or wear their hair, it was always a battle I didn't pick w/my son. The more you ignore it and let it be, the faster they get over whatever part of it is rebellion. And the other part of it is just fun. I remember well.

I think you've also lost a pound or so? Seems we're all in a better spot than we were. LOL, wonder if it's like gals and their periods---in that we start to cycle into a better zone through proximity and, I dunno, osmosis?

Lori---I am SO glad to hear the Doc's office called back and you know what the next step is. Good that you will be able to go on your cruise w/some answers.

I am loving the sound of your delivery meals! I can see how perfect it would be in terms of relieving one of all kinds of decisions, trying new things, and getting just what you need for a meal, no waste.

Jaz again---I'll be interested to hear how it works for you.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 5, 100% on plan, yesterday too. So this is my third week of complete LC compliance during the 5 day challenge. Some days have been a bit better than others but ALL DAYS have been better than I've done in a long time as consistently.

And here's the good news. Man, I've got that thinner feeling coming out of my ears. Lapping it up like a kitten who finally gets her milk, er bacon. I LOVE THIS FEELING. And, I wouldn't dream of spoiling it w/the scale at this moment in time. I know where I was at last time and that's all I need to know for now, just going to enjoy this feeling till I get compelled to put a number to it.

Tomorrow night is BIL's birthday dinner party. Not sure what they're serving but depending on that, it might be a treat meal for me. Will stay on plan all day and see what happens.

Tonight we are about to start a new TV series I'm excited about, will say more after we've watched a bit of it. Maybe 2 episodes, then I'm off to the pool for some water jogging around 9.

I have noticed that the exercise at this time of night does jazz me up a bit, but in a good way that slackens stress as well. To me if I end up able to read till midnight or 1am in the sweet quiet I'm good w/that.

Will say this. I have had more energy in general since I started this, AND, I'm not near as achy in the morning as I was. Shooting for 4 times a week. Can't wait to get down there.

Lori- They really have been messing up with the communication the whole way through. Ugh! Glad you will get the appropriate tests on Thursday at least.

Blue- Look at you just grooving along and feeling thinner and lighter too! That's great! I am happy for you and glad you are enjoying the exercise in the pool also.

••

We survived Jr year! DS17 said the physics final was beyond horrible so I am sure he will end up with a C in that class- the final will pull him out of a B-. Oh well, that's the breaks. Otherwise I think he will have As and Bs. Done and done! I am greatly relieved to put this year behind us academically!

So, he had his hair done. I'm.... unsure. I'll have to get used to it. He had said it was going to be, I don't know, bleached? Blond? Platinum? My initial thought when I saw it is that it looks sort of gray/silver. It would be perfect for a play, if he were playing Einstein or something. I'll have to give it a while- I saw him briefly and then he went upstairs and fell asleep. Think he was up late studying last night.

DS20 didn't end up coming home this weekend as he'll come home next weekend for Father's Day instead. He did tell me when he will need to be leaving for Amsterdam so I'll start looking at ticket prices.

I think I'm going to see Aladdin with DD tomorrow. On plan today and a 3.8 mile hike.

Nic---My son was just telling me that silver/platinum hair is all the rage now and threatening to do it himself! Whatever. Hair grows out, no damage done. Remember when Trig's kiddo did her hair---what was it Trig, blue?

Hey all, started a TV series tonight I think is going to be fab---Jaz, I particularly think you'd like it, but also think anyone would. It's an Australian production, "A Place Called Home." 2 episodes in and I love it. There are 5 seasons so feel like I hit gold, love it when that happens. Not that we'll watch all 5 at once, but nice to know it's there to be watched. It's kind of an Australian Downton Abby set right after WWII.

One catch, it's on a network called Acorn. Have any of you heard of it? It's 4.99 a month, but you can get a free one month trial. It's all British and Australian series, and oh boy, so many of them looked fantastic. A pal told me about it and has been raving about how much she's enjoying this network. For $5 a month, we're going for it.

Just up from my swim/jog. 30 minutes plus a 6 lap warm up. Didn't have the pool to myself the whole time tonight. Was really hot here today and so there were a few people down there, although it has cooled off and is a beautiful evening. But good for me to get used to just doing my thing, people there or not. Just hugged the circumference and jogged away. Heh, got a few cheers as I just kept going.

I just cannot get over how much I am actually enjoying this! I have always dreaded exercise, even if I used to do a ton of it and learned to appreciate is sometimes once I got going and certainly appreciated the results. But this water thing is something else entirely. I get in the zone so easily, no pain, no sweat, but you can really feel your muscles working.

Plus is it a fantastic place to stretch. So many creative ways to do it w/the "weightlessness" of water. Also, balance is not an issue.

And all I have to do is go down 2 floors, out a door, into another and I'm at the pool! Ha, promise I'll stop going on and on about this, but I am really so happy about this. FINALLY, I am moving my butt!

Blue, that thinner feeling coming out of your ears! feels wonderful doesn't it? I love that feeling and never like to leave it!!

Teal, the kiddo did teal.....so far it was orange and purple together (crazy one) and then all purple, all teal, all fire engine red....which is now fading out. she is gonna grow out thru summer and decide on color and cut for her first year high school...who knows where she will go with it

Have fun at BILs party and be a good girl best ya can.

So happy you are loving your maintenance free pool! Keep us the great job using it as some exercise plus of course the water gives such good relaxation. Something about water!! I always had it, when in and around water I thrive literally. I move. I function. It is the weightlessness and draw of, I don't know, I love it!

I eat very little cocktail sauce, I like lightly dip and scrap off, I like only a tiny bit of horseradish taste on shrimp so I just eat it out of the jar....I don't bother making lc cocktail sauce. I've bought the low sugar ketchup and it is good, no diff. from regular except sugar content so that is good, but heavens it is so expensive for how much ya get and I use almost no ketchup in my life anymore....I use like 1/2 teaspoon on a cheeseburger patty....I just put on a tiny bit, swirl around to get a smidge over that who burger and I am done. So I don't bother buying it anymore. I eat maybe 2 teaspoons of ketchup per month? if that LOL

Jaz, hope those ribs are fab!!! I know you are having a good and busy time

Lori, yikes on all ya gotta do, so close to your trip timing also. ugh but at least action is happening. Screwups are so common now. People just 'forget ya' and don't seem to care, yea yea yea they say, oh my, we dropped the ball and tell ya that, but in the end, they don't care one bit.....drives me batty on all that.

Nicco I remember you chatting about the mohawks from before, always funny....mohawks were so 'back then' ya know HAHA
Very wild on the hair color, like Einstein color You will get used to it like I do. Thankfully everything grows out It is weird tho while you look at them for a while, then it starts to look really ok to ya and then ya don't notice at all.

Hi Greg...give us another great report and let us know how you are doing.
Still giving a lot of time to the bathroom reno?

So icky day and the rain last night was wild. big lightening. everything outside has been washed down, pollen is off the porch and all....so I like that from a big hard rain but I hate the sinus...head is weirdo from low pressure sitting on us...ugh

finish off rv today. little things and done
then off early tomorrow...only like 5 hr drive and at the beach for 2 weeks.
yes, bringing laptop to chat a bit and check in....but don't expect much I usually love to unplug my life when coastal

all good so far
thinking some pork chops on the grill tonight
bacon'/cheese omelet whenever if hungry, if not so, then broth it will be

great day all

Blue- I hear the excitement in your writing regarding the pool. I knew you would love it. I just knew you would!!!! I loved it when I too had a pool- big pool- private and cleaned by someone else!!!! HAHAHAH-

I am beaming that you are getting your ZIP back and doing SO well on the WOE!!!!!- Oh ya! Screw the scales you are doing everything right! You sound so good!

Lori- thanks for the tip on the cod cakes- I actually have crab in my fridge and wonder if I combine them? Thats for the egg tip! I will tell you!
What are you getting next week? I was thinking the salmon, pork, and sausage dishes. My box is coming today- I will try it tomorrow.
Keep ya posted on that. I like the idea of no waste!!!!

What are you getting next week? -
I am so glad FINICALLY some answers! Dang it certainly has taken long enough. I am glad though you will have your answer before your cruise!

NIC- - Yea on another year down and the count down begins! - Wow oh wow! -
I know that the CASA can be rough- but it does warm my heart that you are in it. What a gift to those you touch!

Enjoy your play! -

TRIG-- You leave tomorrow! I know you are ready. However it looks like you might be hit or miss rain drops. But hey what the hay- change of scenery! It always does a body good!
I know you are chopping at the bit to roll out!
Please post when you can- would love to see your campsite!!!!

Greg- Hope you are well!
------------------------------------------------------
Hello all- I have taken 2 days and have slept and eaten well! Much needed. I can't believe how tired I really am.

Yes it is awesome my friend practices OMAD and LC. No issues with food, NONE! -
Now drinks........HAHAHAH- even those we have been LC -
I have lost another .5 pounds- holding now at 6 down. I am so wanting to hit the "UNDER" buy the end of Aug. That will give me time- low and slow- and I can then start fall- UNDER!!!-

I am taking some good unplug time! It is great. No agenda- just good food (the ribs were outstanding!) - slaw- Boom done!

Today is Italian sausage with peppers and onions and left over slaw. Might make a trip to the Red box- maybe not. It is storming here. I am good with a pj day! Might check out a movie- maybe not. I am good with just hanging. Been a minute! - I need to spend some time looking- these 12 hours days are killing me!

My friend leaves Tue evening- I will be ready. I am not one to be hovered over!!!!!!- HAHAHAHAHA- Seriously! But so far so good- nice for the company.

I am loving the OMAD life!

OK ladies have a good one!!!

Jaz....next week I'm getting Smokey chicken, Pork with creamy cauli rice, and salmon. Keep in mind that they choose the meals for you and if you want to edit them, you have to do it a WEEK ahead. Like Wednesday is my delivery day, so if I had wanted to change anything for next week's delivery day, I would have had to change it by this past Wednesday.

I have my meals picked for the next few weeks, and I also skipped the weeks when I'm away with my sister. So easy!

Tonight we had the last of this week's menu:

Monterrey Jack burgers with chimichurri sauce
Roasted red bell peppers
Kale chips

I enjoyed it all! I just gave DH his red peppers raw with ranch for dipping and he didn't try the kale chips. I loved the roasted bell pepper and the kale chips were tasty. Just fun trying different stuff.

I asked him if there were any of the dinners that he really wouldn't want again, and he said the cod cakes were not a favorite. I thought they had good flavor, but they were a pain to make.

I was a lazy bum today, but will get out for a walk tomorrow morning. My cat had me up at 4AM today, so I'll be ready for bed early.

G'night!

Blue- Guess my kid is right with the trends then. I think he looks like a cross between Doc Brown in Back to the Future (he's got the long haired curly thing standing up all over hair right now) and Einstein.

I am so glad that you are loving the pool and exercising so much! One more thing that makes this move just right for you!

Trig- I think you are right, I'm starting to adjust to the color- at least I don't feel as shocked when I look at him every time now. My DD said he looks like he was struck by lightning.

Hey, have a great trip! Not all weather days will be good but any day at the beach is a good day!

Jaz- Six pounds down is really, really great!! Things are moving in the right direction for you, as they should have been given how faithful you are. What do you think has made the difference? Portion sizes?

Wow, he is there until Tuesday? I'd be losing my shiz by now for sure. You guys just stayed in your town, right?

Lori- So glad you are enjoying Green Chef so much. I don't think it is my thing but I do enjoy reading about what you ate and how it was prepared. Do you think you will make any of those recipes on your own? Have you noticed any changes up or down with your weight since you started it?

••••••

Happy Sunday! On plan and doing well. Took my own snacks to the movies (we saw Aladdin- people ranked it from a 6 to a 9 so lots of divergence there!) and then ate pizza toppings when everyone wanted to get pizza afterward.

Then this morning I shifted DH from going to iHop by offering to make bacon and LC pancakes here. My weight loss has been sloooooow and I'm trying to stay pretty faithful at least until the Boston trip in a couple of weeks. So we'll do that and then if we eat dinner out hopefully we will go to the Kabob place or something.

I don't think anyone on here is particularly a pancake/big breakfast/brunch lover but every now and again I love a good pancake and bacon brunch. This absolutely scratches that itch for me in a very LC way. I feel SO SATISFIED with this sub and that is pretty rare for me in the LC world. Just YUM.

ILs, particularly MIL, has conceded to an invisible fence. We were going to pass their dog off to a BIL and SIL bc we were going out of town and she doesn't want that. Well, if that's what it takes. I will be ready for him to go home- we have had him since mid March. I am SO TIRED of vacuuming up dog hair!

So, the play today- we'll leave in a hour and a half. The LOOOONG day of training tomorrow. On plan and proud of myself for navigating a social weekend well.

Good Morning ALL!

TRIG- SAFE TRAVELS- I do hope these storms blow in and out and you have a fab time. You are going to be there 2 weeks- so I thinking this crappy weather is supposed to clear up by Tue.
I hope you have a fabulous trip and give us details!

Lori- I read all the rules for changing up meals extra and pick up some for the next 3 weeks. Then I stopped it after that. I want to see if it is really helping my budget or hurting my budget. And to see if I like it.
I got my box yesterday. It came about 3:30. I was impressed everything was still cold- but the box was soaked due to the rain. Right off the truck.
Everything was still cold. But I am wondering if he had sit it there in 90 degree heat what it would be as the Gell packs were not frozen anymore. And it could be anytime that day- an 8 hour window. That is a bit concerning. I am certainly not going to wait on a box on Saturdays. Any rate I will see how this goes. I might just broil the cod and be done with it. I am not into tedious cooking.

I am glad you are enjoying it. Is you hubby going to keep it coming while you are gone?
How is the arm doing these days? Are you still getting your walks in?

Blue- I am positive that your swimming is doing wonderful things for your muscles. Not only that for your mojo! Which your work outs you are more mindful of your eating! I beautiful thing! LOVE IT!
If you did that 3-4 times a week- by the end of the summer- whoa!!!! Good for you to have found your thing!
What does your week look like?

NIC-
- So I guess this summer the pool is not working for you. But then again you never really talked about it as something you truly enjoy. I know you love to hike!
How is your training going? - when do you actually start? How do you make your schedule? Can you tell them when you are willing to work?
I think you will enjoy it!

OMG I know why I am single! - I am soooo set it my ways. And I do love my alone time. The perfect husband for me will have his own house and we will get together for dinner ect...... a couple times a week! - Then all good!!!!!!!!- HAHAHAHAHAHAH-

I am down another pound- which is a total of 6.5- and holding. I know I could gain it all back in a single day! - So I am not going to jinx myself!
But it is helpful to have a support for OMAD/ LC - at meals. I also have cut my portions down SLIGHTLY. Just because I know I could pack it down- but not very lady like!!! HAHAHAH- and I am down 1/2 over it!- HUMMMMMMMMMMM

Humid and rain now for the past 3 day. Thunderstorms all day yesterday and today! - So I have not been real eager to get out. But I am getting a bit stir crazy- so I am going to insist we get out. It is still raining though.
Might try to catch a movie and walk the mall- remember those????

Citrus/ lime/ ginger - pan roasted chicken and kale tonight. Going to be good.

Have fun all! - I am so happy to have tomorrow and Tue off! - it will fly by
