I cycle throughout the week. Probably three days a week I take in at least 100 grams, mostly in the form of sweet potatoes. Other days I might average anywhere from 5-50, depends upon whether or not I get into honey, dried fruit, or chocolate. I try to keep one or two days VLC. I am still losing steadily about 2 pounds per month, although for a while I was losing much faster, which is why I added back a bunch of carbs.

Candiflip, sorry I didn't see this sooner! I'm getting 40-70 net carbs a day, breastfeeding a toddler. Wasn't low carbing when she was newborn; wish I had stats for you there!

Welcome "Okay" is what makes you feel and function the best

You can try lowering your carbs gradually, just stay well hydrated (you should be drinking to thirst) and eat plenty. Keep an eye on how fast you are losing weight, since losing fat releases stored toxins to be flushed from your body (they end up in your milk too) and you don't want too much of that waste in your system all at once when you are nourishing a babe.

You might want to take a look at this thread; sometimes VLC interferes with milk supply. Agree that you'll need to take it slowly and see. It could be the sudden switch to VLC that causes problems, but it might not be. No one really knows.

Remember that breastfeeding will help take the pounds off, if you're eating healthily. Breastfeeding didn't do that for me until I switched to LC; once I switched, though, I discovered I can have a fairly high carb count and still lose.

Whatever you try, good luck! And congrats on the kiddo!

I've been afraid to LC because of bfing. I struggled with supply in the beginning but at 4m things seem to be going well.

Well I'm at 242 again and I need to do something NOW before I hate myself into a hole .

Tomorrow I'm going to try out 50g a day, no grains/sugar, etc. LOTS of water and iced tea and see how it goes. I may wean myself down to 25g if possible. Wish my milk supply luck please!

My supply sucked the first few days I started a lc diet but I just nursed nursed nursed and it got back to normal. My LO is 1 yr old so its not such a big deal.

My supply suffered because my body was detoxifying from sugar and wheat and I felt like I was going to die, but luckily it didn't stay that way
