I was under the assumption that the dry salad dressing mixes and gravy mixes were carb laden?

The gravy mix packet that I have (mccormicks) states that it has 12 grams of carbs per packet, the main ingredient being enriched wheat flour... I've made this recipe in my pre-LC days, and it is WONDERFUL, I'm just cautioning people to be aware of their packet choices.

I made this in my crock pot and we could hardly chew it! (I used a chuck roast). So.... today I put it in a pan on the stove, covered it with water & the juices from the crock pot with more seasoning. It turned out very good. Next time I won't be using a crock pot.

I like it but my husband doesn't.... He says it is way to salty.

okay. i have been making this off and on. i made this the other day again but skipped some things.
i started with the boneless beef roast
i took one package of brown gravy mix
added a pacage of chicken gravey mix
forgot to add zesty italian seasoning
forgot to add the ranch seasoning
added some diet cola to cover the crock pot for the juices

it was so good. my father loved it. i put on the crockpot all night on low. sue

I have made this before and it is so easy and quite tasty. I like to slice it up for sandwiches made out of cheese puffs.
