The way I looked was this. If it's not good for you when you're not supporting another life, then why would it be healthy after you conceive? I guess it boils down to whether this is a diet or a woe. Of course, when you're pregnant, your nutritional needs increase and I needed to add more carbs in the form of fruits and veggies. I also increased my fat intake....after I stopped throwing up. For both of my pregnancies in America, my doctors actually recommended the south beach diet, maintenance phase, for pregnancy. Here in Japan, for my third pregnancy, I was told to eat low fat. Of course I didn't listen!
Good luck!
