What has worked for me is to separate the concept of losing bodyfat vs increasing fitness.
The fastest way for me to lose bodyfat is to do super low carb and restrict physical activity to walking and gentle yoga. My energy level drops, but the pounds of fat just shed as long as I stay in ketosis.
When I try to get fitter, I hope to maintain bodyfat or accept a small increase.
As I get more savvy, I hope to mix the two - but for losing a solid 50 pounds of fat, the first approach is what worked. Doing yoga and getting more flexible made me feel that I was getting fitter in some dimensions, even as my strength and endurance waned during the long period when I was burning off the fat.

I eat approx a cup of cooked ground beef, with a bit of mushroom, celery and caulifower, salt, pepper, and two table spoon of duck fat. Relax a bit, stretch and I'm ready to go. My typical workout is 10-15 km of rollerblading or 20-25 mountain bike.

I drink water halfway mark, and after a shower I eat a bit of fruit and cheese (grapes or raspberries).

I have no idea if eating more carbs before would make me go faster? To be honest the only thing I care about is that I exercise at approx. 75-80% power for the entire time.

Even if I did load up on carbs, and say it was easier to exercise, I would still give it my 75-80% power; so in the end it would be as hard, the only difference is I would complete 15km faster. And because I'm not in it to break a world record, but to get fit and slim down, I'm ok with the pain... Plus, I have the adrenaline rush after, so I'm a happy bunny.

I will start weight training soon, and I plan to try the carb-cycling method. Some carbs on weekends to load up my muscles with glycogen and induction during the week.

nuts are great for you man high in fat and protein, also high fats on this diet are better than carbs. your fine carbing up pre/post workout only thing is dont go overboard maybe 30-50 gs per meal not included in your overall carb intake throughout the day.
