Default 8 day conference, which shakes?

I'm leaving Sat to work at an 8 day conference in Washington DC. I can usually find a health food store somewhere near where I work. I have NEVER had any of the shakes. Because of the nature of work and that I can't leave, I'll probably buy some shakes to take with me for breakfast.

So, my question. Which shakes are the best as far as low/carb or no-hidden-carbs? Taste...yeah, it matters, but my main concern is staying on plan and meeting my weight loss goals.

I still vote EAS Low net carb and tastes great. Plus the little containers are easy to pack around.

EAS... hmm Never tried. Gonna put that on my list for next week. I personally like the atkins for taste... though not to cheap.

Wow. You guys TOTALLY rock!!

Ya know, I've been on Atkins since March, and most of the time, I feel like I have a good handle on things. Then stuff like this conference comes up, and know what?sometimes, you just need a little help from your friends!!

Thanks again guys

My plan is to find a health food store and buy unsweetened soy milk, (I bring splenda packets), some EAS shakes, and I don't dare get any bars. I'm pretty metabolically resistant.

I LOVE you guys!!!

OK, but now I'm thinking and wondering.......why are the EAS shakes ok? Others seem to cause stalls and other problems.
Do they have a different form of sweetener? The carbs aren't "hidden"?
Why are these safe? (I know they taste great, but I need safe too)

Wait! I haven't tried the EAS shakes yet (but definitely will after all these rave reviews) - but if you like cold coffee I recommend the Atkins cafe au lait. It's no latte but I like them.

Not sure that they don't cause stalls in some people, but they don't stall me. Everyone is different. But if you have to choose between eating nothing or having an EAS shake, I think I'd take the shake! lol

I havn't noticed stalls with the EAS shakes, but I only have them as an occasional treat, not as a frequent meal replacement. I am going to have to do a long drive Friday and plan on taking a couple though to tide me over as I don't want to stop for lunch. I'm also going to take a ziplock full of left over cornish game hen.

For soy milk. Try to find Soy Slender, I found it in the cookign Isle of Albertsons. It only has 1 ECC per 8oz and tastes amazing. I love the vinilla and chocolate. I havn't tried the cappachino flavor as it is made using wheat. They are sweetened a little with splenda

Hey Worklady

Do yourself a favor and buy some Atkins Morning Start Breakfast bars. They come 5 to a box and they are delicious. Tuck one in your purse for the afternoon too. They are a little pricey, but worth it. I found them in the health food store for $7 and at super walmart for $5.75.

Flavors I've found are Cinnamon, blueberry, chocolate and apple crisp. I love the blueberry and cinnamon. The apple crisp are a little too sweet (can't believe I'm saying that) for me and I haven't tried the chocolate because I'm afraid it will start cravings for me.

Have fun in DC. It's my favorite city in the world.

Magic

Cool Shakes

I use the EAS Strawberry Creme shakes. They are pretty good. They are cheaper than the Atkins. I usually can find them for $4.99 for 4 of them. Watch the packaging. They have two types. You want the get the CARB CONTROL ones. I really didn't feel that there was too much difference in the taste of the Atkins Strawberry shake and the EAS shake. Have fun at your conference.

LadyBelle: I made a note of that, not having to add splenda and have flavors would be GREAT

Rick: I know :-)

MagicSir, it's time for you to discover NEW YORK!!!

And thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone else :-)
