Default Fat Free Pudding??

I just started today and although it is not listed in the allowed foods. I was wondering if it qualifies under sweet treats or is that the list and that is it.

If this is not allowed can you explain why...what should I be looking for when reading the label.

The following is for prepared since I don't care to eat just the powder

Calories 80
Fat 1%
Saturated and Trans 2%
Sodium 310mg
Carbs 8g
Protein 0.4g

I am still learning how to read labels so sorry if this is a dumb question.

Sweet treats are limited to roughly 75 calories per day. I think these are ok, but the nutritional information seems a bit different than the one I used to buy. There was no trans fat in the jello fat free version.

Look for the packs that say "no sugar added" the ones that say fat free have sugar added.

Heres the link to the Kraft site so that you can see that they do make a no sugar added pudding snack pack:

In my SBD book it adds the fat free pudding back in in the second phase. Not sure why it does this.

We're technically not supposed to have the pudding until phase II but we are allowed 75 sweet calories a day. That's as good a place to get them as any but it does have to be the NO SUGAR ADDED kind.

For my phase I, I ate no sugar added fudgsicles!!

Like Judy said, the fat free pudding is not what you want, it's the sugar free stuff that's okay. Try the caramel flavored - YUM! It's the best.

Ok after MUCH searching I have NOT been able to find ANY pudding that says No Sugar Added on it.
Also I wanted to clarify 1 thing that I did not mention in my original post.
The pudding I have does say sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame-potassium. Also I think I remember my husband saying he saw one that used Splenda. So still a no no?? Not a big deal...I sure don't need it but would like to understand as much as I can.
I have asked at the grocery stores here and they tell me that they make more money of Hunt's so they don't sell the packages like you mentioned above Judy. We have instant Jello Pudding and that is it and this is as good as it gets.

Thanks for all the help!

I have only seen sugar-free pudding OR fat-free pudding. It would be nice if they made a sugar-free AND fat-free pudding all in one. I am wondering which would be the best choice to buy--sugar-free or fat free?

I see the post below this was answered but wasn't sure if mine was missed or just unanswered. Does the splenda/aspartame make it better??

Thanks Again

You can have asparatame, but splenda is meant to be better for you....apparently there has been some research into asparatame being carsonagenic.

I know that it is allowed and my question was is this type of pudding ok because it doesn't say No Sugar Added BUT is sweetened with aspartame or is it still a no no anyway.

Judy mentoined above to look for No Sugar Added but I have looked high and low and they just don't carry it here. So my only alernative is the stuff I mentioned above. If it is not ok..no big deal but I would like to know. There are a lot of ice cream I see that says No Sugar Added but there are a lot of calories and I am so confused when it comes to sweet treats.

For example on Chapman's website they have No Sugar Added products but they all seem so high in calories....Is there a particular one that does seem ok...or that anyone here buys?? Any Chapman's fans out there??

I do buy the Fudsicle brand fudgsicles but my local stores do not carry those either so I can only get them on the rare occasion.

http://www.chapmans.on.ca/products.aspx

I just want to get all the info I can as I am in this for the long haul! I am proud that this new way of life is working for me

Thanks Again for the help!

I eat chapmans no sugar added everything. I can usually only get the drumsticks, and the ice cream sandwiches make me sick. SF fudgesticks are good.
