Talking Jazzy's Workout Watch

As in, watch to see if I actually get a routine going! LOL

After watching "The Biggest Loser" last night, I actually set my alarm for 5am to get up and exercise before the hubby and 3 kids got up. Fortunately I had my workout CD all ready to go, and took off to the office where my boss keeps a treadmill for employee use.

15 minutes on the treadmill
20 stomach crunches
15 pushups

This is the first day I've actually exercised in a very long time. Although I didn't like getting up in the dark, I have felt terrific even four hours later! I need to focus on working out every other day for the next two weeks. That should be long enough to establish a habit and make it routine.

Talking Day Two

Well, I did an impromptu set of pushups with my son this morning! He was watching Lazy Town on Nick Jr. and Sportacus was doing these one-hand, one-foot pushups which my son wanted to try. He couldn't do those without falling over, so I showed him regular pushups. I did 5 as a demonstration, then we did 5 more together.

I also broke out the toning cords this afternoon! My plan is to alternate treadmill and toning cords, with one day off per week.
Here's what I did:

35 lateral raises
50 bicep curls
50 standing rows
50 chest presses

Did I mention I just lost the two pounds I had gained a couple of days ago?

Cool Day Three

15 minutes on the treadmill today
10 pushups
15 stomach crunches

I think I'm going to switch the pushups to the days I work with the toning cords. I could tell this morning that I had worked those same muscles yesterday. Worked up more of a sweat this time, and my muscles were a little sore on the way home. I know, it sounds lame for only 15 minutes, but it's 15 minutes more than I did last week! I'm just focusing on these two weeks for now; I figure by then it will be routine.

Down ANOTHER pound today!

Default Day Five

15 minutes on the treadmill
25 stomach crunches

I still feel like I'm going at a snail's pace on the treadmill, but I can't seem to kick it up a notch. It makes me feel wimpy that I only walk for fifteen minutes but am starting to spend the rest of the day feeling like a truck ran over my legs. I keep telling myself that it's just because I'm doing it every day, but we'll see. My scheduled day off is tomorrow - let's see how Wednesday goes.

Ugh, I just realized I haven't exercised all week. No wonder I feel like garbage. Gotta get on the Sky Glider sometime today.

All right, now - TOM is over, I'm down 2 lbs today (not to mention a jeans size!) and I just did my 20 minutes on the Sky Glider first thing in the morning, before eating a bite. I am back in business, baby!!

Okay, so it's been a week since my last post. Rats! I don't know what happened, but the important thing is, I got back out and exercised this morning FIRST THING. Twenty minutes on the Sky Glider and a faster pace of workout music to boot. The last mix was getting too easy - this one is much better. I feel great!

I think I was becoming afraid to build muscle, because I so want those numbers on the scale to keep moving down. But I really do feel better both physically and emotionally when I exercise daily. I need to keep up with my plan and just trust that the results will follow.

Ugh! I've decided I just can't fit exercise in during the day. The baby's schedule is just too erratic, especially since his teeth have started coming in. I put in ten minutes on the Sky Glider about a week ago, and got interrupted by the baby crying. Tried again today (hubby was home to help both times) and got interrupted again!! So I'm going to have to resign myself to exercising at night. I've spent many nights arguing with myself - I'm too tired, still have too much to do, I'll just do it in the morning, etc - but the bottom line is, I'm really NOT going to get it done in the morning. The only time that worked was when I was getting up at 5:30 am. Now, that's when the baby gets up. <sigh>

Default New goal!

Okay, I am very excited today at seeing some serious shrinkage in belly fat, woo hoo!! Was perusing some links for Atkins support here, and decided I am taking on a new challenge: minimum of 20 minutes on the Sky Glider, every day, for 21 days. At the end of the 21 days, I hope to be down one pants size. I'm kind of halfway there already, so this will hardly be scientific, but I'm going to take my measurements tomorrow and count tomorrow as Day One. I would really love to drop one size every 21 days, which would mean I could be in 14/16 by the end of the summer! How awesome would THAT be?!?

So, the experiment begins. We shall see. More to come, I'm sure!

Figures, I get so excited about this 21-day challenge, I forget that I'm having my tubes tied tomorrow! My guess is, the doc won't want me exercising that night. So, Friday is my new start day!

Okay, so Easter weekend was busier than I had expected. So what? I did *30* minutes on the Sky Glider tonight, so there's Day One for you!
