Question Stuck

I need some advice and support. I have been staying at 20 to 25 carbs for the last three weeks and I have not lost a pound. I started to exercise two weeks ago to jump start my body but no luck. I do take high blood pressure medice but none are beta blockers which I understand may slow down the weight loss. I measure, weigh and look up everything I eat so that Im not miscalculating my carbs. This is not a joke I saw the post about the guy who was quitting because he was stuck which was posted on 4/1. Any ideas?????

Don't get discouraged! A true stall according to Atkins has to be atleast 4 weeks I've read here(on forum) even longer. Do you feel well?? are you happy with this WOE?? If you answered yes then be patient. I lost 15 pound real fast then nothing for weeks so I think we can all relate. I think if you read that post about the guy quiting .... at the bottom of the post it says April Fool's. Keep up the great job. Be proud of the 14lbs that are gone and keep on a chuggin. If you are truly worried, post your menus that helps cause there are a lot of smarties here
(not me ) who give great advice. But I think your doing great!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck Ellen

Hi there Gspgundog,

Have you measured yourself? A true stall is 4 weeks with no pounds OR INCHES lost.

The exercising you have begun could well have added a little muscle - which weighs more than fat. You may well have lost an inch or two.

OTOH, your body may just be adjusting to the initial weight loss of 14 pounds - a truly excellent loss. Low carb weight loss often happens in spurts - aka "whooshes." Have a look at this site for more info on whooshes.

May the Whoosh Fairy visit you soon!

No, they are totally different drugs.

And just to remind everyone, please don't ever stop taking medication prescribed by your doctor unless it is with the doctor's knowledge.

Gspgundog, low carbing tends to lower blood pressure naturally so you may soon find you will need a smaller dose of your BP drugs, if not be able to cease taking it altogether. But pleae, only do so with your doc's consent.
