Default CKD and Pre/Post Workout

Is a pre and post workout meal necessary prior to doing the weight training during the week? I was informed before that a piece of fruit prior to the full body w/o is needed to knock you out of ketosis and into sugar burning mode for glycogen depletion. Does this sound right? I'm after fat loss but mostly muscle preservation.

Thanks for any info.

I believe that Lyle Mc dose advocate the use of fruit prior to the depletion workout, but I personally don't do it.

I like to feel the rush of carbs after I am totally depleted and then take on a bunch of simple carbs.

But, to each their own.

Trainerdan,

So, a pre workout and post workout meal isn't necessary before the workouts during the week and the depletion w/o on Fri.?
What about a post w/o meal of only 30%pro and 70%fats (flax oil)?

Sometimes when I do a full body w/o first thing in the morning I feel my stomach growling. If you w/o on an empty stomach and somehow your glyco storage is almost empty, won't your body turn to your muscles for energy? I just started CKD so I might be a bit confused still.

Thanks for any info.
