Question Day 1, Questions

Today is Day 1 for me and I have some questions, of course.

After my Upperbody workout this morning, I had a carb solutions shake to which I added 9g of l-glutamine. Is that too much? Do I take the same amount tonight? Do you take the l-glutamine everyday or just on the days that you do weights?

I woke up at 4am in order to be able to get my workout in before work, I've very surprised, that I feel great, I really thought I would be tired. What a wonderful way to start the day

I try to take the glutamine every day, Harley. General formula for how much is .3g per kg of LBM taken in two or three doses over the course of the day. Right after working out is good and in the evening before bed is also good. I just throw it into my shake and don't even notice it. Some of the brands are of good enough quality that you can't taste them in water.

Taking it everyday will help prevent muscle wasting and aid in repair - something that happens after the workout and during those rest days.

Isn't it amazing how easy getting out of bed at such an ungodly hour can be when you've got a reason?

Keep up that good work
Nat

Default Speaking of Ungodly Hours

Hi there Harley......

And welcome to the Bodacious BFL Babes Club! I'm delighted that our numbers are increasing!

Nat originally inspired me to do BFL and I decided when I started that one of the goals I'd set myself was getting up earlier to get going with my day. I'd been rolling out of bed around 9 in the morning and congratulating myself on not sleeping in. HaH! Now, at the beginning of my 10th week, I'm waking up at 6AM, 25 minutes before the alarm, even on days off, and cheerfully getting up and starting my day. It's amazing what a changed person I am in more ways than this.

As for the L-Glutamine, I have been doing a fair bit of reading up on it and everything I've read indicates that it is one of the basic building blocks of the human body and is used in many parts and processes. It occurs naturally in meat, so we are already getting some with our protein intake. I've read that it also fuels the brain and is a prime choice of the body as brain food. All of this on top of the characteristics Nat cited! I expect to continue indefinately with taking it.

Marlaine
