Default yet another sugar question

can you please tell me the difference between splenda packets and pourable type (same, just packaging?) If a recipe calls for 4 packets, how much is that in the pourable form?

also, what exactly is splenda, i understand it comes from real sugar...why are we eating this then?

Here is the Splenda Packet Conversion Chart. It's from the Kitchen Help FAQ. The FAQ has tons of information for the new and seasoned low-carber.

This link to sweeteners from the Tips section at the top of the page describes the different types of artificial sweeteners.

Here is a link to the Splenda website. Click on the FAQs on the left hand side of the page for info on what Splenda is.

Any idea how you convert powder amounts to tablet amounts e.g. I have a recipe which calls for 8tblsp powder sweetner but I want to use the splenda tablets because it is less carbs. Any idea how many tablets that would be

1 tablet is equivalent to 1 teaspoon.
Just be cautious with the "tablespoon" measure though, because North American tablespoons only have 3 teaspoons, unlike ours, which have 4 teaspoons. So, if it's a North American recipe, you'll need 24 tablets. (1.8 carbs instead of 12 if you were to use granular Splenda. )

Cheers.
