Has anyone been doing the 30 Day Shred lately? I just did level 1 today.

I did several days in a row of level 1 a few months ago. I quit and never got to the next level.

I need someone to kick my butt and help me do this regularly!

Got the dvd yesterday and did level 1! It's pretty intense, even at level 1

I started this yesterday and have just had my second go at level 1. Very challenging (I haven't done fitness for a while...) but a really good workout.

I have problems with my wrist, though, so can't take my body weight for press-ups. I just substitute planks (taking my weight on my forearms) during the press-up sections - hope that works well enough!

I found day 2 harder than day 1 (still aching a bit) but it's enjoyable and quick :-)

planks are good alternatives if pushups hurt your wrists. I can do a few pushups then I have to drop down to planks because of shoulder issues.

Thanks, Becky - that's reassuring. I was aching a lot yesterday but I did level 1 for the third time last night and feel better today so hopefully my body is getting used to working!

After just a few days I already see great results.. and can't wait to measure/weigh/take new pic at 30 day mark!

Hi Candice,
I did the 30 day Shred a couple of times last year, so 2 rounds of 30 days. I recently posted progress pics in my journal to remind me of how I was starting to love my body.

I've been thinking of starting again. This may be a good time to do it! It's amazing how quickly you start to gain strength. I don't miss how sore I was the first few days!

You're going to feel so good after the 30 days have passed.

I did I move up every 10 days. Seemed to work out well. I used to do the Shred along w/ other things too.

Sad when I look back through my gym log but I will get there again.

did you find level 2 really hard? I heard from online friends that it really hurt their knees.. some also said level one did as well.. so maybe they are just doing wrong? What was your experience?

Hmm, around that time I was doing another one of Jillian's workouts too. I think one of them did bother my knees and I modified some of the moves. Can't remember if it was the Shred. If it starts to bother you just make some modifications.

I seem to remember that level 2 wasn't that much harder than level 1. Maybe because your body starts to get stronger.

I thought that when working with weights that you should have a rest/ cardio day to rebuild muscle....?

Have done this video, level 2, 5 times since last Monday and my arms are getting more and more toned by the day, I am addicted, I want to do it again tonight but don't know if it is ok to do daily...?

Jillian answered this question on her website earlier this year. She said that the 30 Day Shred is designed to be done with lighter weights and therefore can be done daily.

She said if you are doing heavier strength training/lifting you should definitely give the muscle groups you worked a rest day for recovery. She recommends that you work the muscles on the front of your body and the ones in the back on alternating days.
