How do you resist stress eating when you've had a very tough day?

Im not a teacher, but we all experience stressful events. It is normal to reach for food when under great stress and the typical choices are soothing.

Finding alternative activities to destress is the key. Among MDs, running is popular. Others rely on meditation.

And a little dark chocolate helps too.

I used to teach, and although it's not the current focus of my current job, I do offer group training sessions for my wider team on a fortnightly basis so I still do a little of it now and then.

Stress isn't exclusive to teaching though. In my current line of work I'm often the one that people will personally ask for to get something done, so I'm often having to deal with competing demands for my time. Oddly enough, being too busy all the time actually means that for me, I don't really have time to think about food so stress doesn't really affect me that way. I'll tend to communicate my workload concerns to my superiors instead, and if I feel like those concerns aren't being suitably addressed, then I'll just start taking the odd sick day and unplug/recharge for a while.

I used to give piano lessons but I don't think that is what you mean by your question!

You might try this, you can use EFT Tapping for stress, anxiety as well. And if you pause during your day (if you have time to do so) for just a few minutes you can meditate, do breathing exercises, or tap tap tap. Also being sure that you aren't too hungry during the day, be sure your blood sugar levels are steady.

Thinking You're Hungry (misidentifying emotions as hunger) - Tapping with Brad Yates

This video definitely helped me, actually helped clear away some of my brain fog as well. I misidentify being frustrated, scared, lonely, angry, sad, tired, with being hungry, and look for solutions in the refrigerator. This video is spot on. Believing that "Eating something will make the pain go away" but it never solved the problems and only caused more problems. and....I love and forgive myself anyway.....beautiful and loving concepts...."
