In the post above i miscorrectly wrote that the Clearspring Roasted Pumpkin Seeds were 0.6g carbs for the whole pack, but they are actually 0.9g carbs for the whole pack. Sorry!

Found something new....
Sainsbury's...New in their Just Cook range - 2 Chicken Breast Supremes. They have a cream cheese and pesto filling and are wrapped in italian style ham.....delicious!

Per chicken breast:
397 cals
43.6 protein
less than 0.1g carbs
24.8g fat

The carb count is very low, protein count is great and doesn't seem to contain much crap normally found on pre-made foods!
Oven cooks in 30 mins and costs £3.99.

D'you know ,

I think good ol Hermasetas Gold is nicer than Splenda . I also used to buy Splenda online from the States before it was abvailable in the Uk and I can tell you that I am convinced that what we get is definitely NOT the same product as what they get in the US .

Make of that what you wish .

I am sticking to the old and trusted .

Here are a few Ideas that work for me and my partner

UK supermarkets often have loss leaders and these rotate through all the main chains there is almost always 1 doing 2 for 1 on chicken breasts, beef or mince.. and remember to add Safeways to the list as they have really silly deals which change every Wed.

Also a little away from the UK but still on the shopping theme if you live in the south take a trip to France, Eurotunnel do early evening return trips from £15 and at the moment have a late afternoon deal for £9. Cheese and meat is about half the cost of the UK and the variety is enormous. If you drink bottled water Evian 6x2lt bottle are around £2.10, Other brands are cheaper…… (also if you have a disel car fuel is about ½ price so fill up there and save the price of the trip…)

Default LC foods in Cardiff

I'm new here so some of these may already have been mentioned elsewhere. I'm rather partial to sausages and in Tesco I found:
Tesco's finest Hungarian Paprika Smoked Sausages. Not cheap but very tasty and 0 carbs/sausage.

Also, just tried their new smoked salmon and tuna sausages. Not fond of them but relatively LC at 1.4 carbs/sausage. (At 9g protein, approx 3g fat and 67 calories per sausage)

I found Splenda in Tesco and Boots at around £2.50.

Boots also had their chocolate for diabetics range. quite LC in Atkins terms in that most of the carbs are polyols but I know there's some controversy over their effects and also each bar (120g) had something like 3 times the RDA of polyols which is likely to have quite a laxative effect - so I stayed away from them.

Cheers

You can have up to 20 olives a day on induction. They're under specialist foods in the book. Hooray for olives!
