Exclamation Chicken livers for breakfast (tastes better than it sounds), pic

Ok, i came up with this one day and it's a keeper since then.

You take some livers (I take about 200g or 7oz and chop them in quarters), season them and fry in butter. They should get barely pink inside and all soft, so you don't want to overcook them, only about 4-5 minutes over med-high heat. As they are cooking, I usually add a drop of tabasco.
As soon as the livers are done you turn off the heat and add 1 egg and 1 oz of grated cheese (any kind) to the skillet.Mix the egg and cheese into the livers, no longer than a minute. The livers should get a nice cheese-egg coating and turning the heat off makes the egg really soft and tender.

That's it, easy and delicious (for those liver fans like i am). I think the carb count is no more than 3, depending on the kind of cheese you use. You may add an oz of cream cheese and it tastes heavenly.

xo, Karina.

I don't know if I can handle raw chicken livers in the morning...but it sounds delicious (if only someone else were cooking them)!

yeah. raw livers are probably not the first thing you want to touch in the morning. i suppose this would be also great over some wilted spinach for lunch.
