I do a good fat fast after travel and want to get back into ketosis fast.

How about this instead of rice??? An avocado mousse

I don't want to argue, but grains are grains: they cause inflammation. Rice is a grain, ergo...

I can't even eat popcorn anymore. The inflammation in my brain makes me feel like I'm walking around in a fog. And after a concussion, that is especially ugly.

The avocado fat fast sounds like an amazing idea. But following it up with rice? That seems self-defeating, to me.

So, today I managed to make it until noon on only 1/2 a 'cado. Appetite is significantly reduced! Mission accomplished!

I also need to break my Quest bar habit, so this was a win in that regard too.

Hate to say it but an avacodo fast sounds almost fun. We can get them here for about $.80 a piece at Aldis. I just started eating acacodos the other day, 1/2 an avacodo a day Was a bit worried about carbs as I have never seperated digestable for undigestable carbs.

Thanks for the recipe. But I don't like sugary things, especially those with syrup. Even the sugar free ones include splenda, doesn't work for me. But I can try to modify it if I crave for dessert. Thanks a lot again.

No problem in discussing. Doctors fight on diets. I can't and shouldn't fight against my body, well except for during the first day of a fast What I've experienced leads my path. Maybe this time it won't work because of a new factor, like a hormone I don't know about or something I won't be able to discover. I won't go on consuming it then, but till this day it haven't failed me.

The same goes for me too with popcorn, luckily I never liked them much. And wheat is awful, too.

Wow, ever since I came off my avocado fast my gut has given me problems. I don't think it was the avocados, but something I ate afterward. This is like it used to hurt in the bad old days of gluten, when I'd be running to the bathroom to 17 times a day. Yes, I counted once.

I've had stomach flu and it definitely wasn't that. More like IBS symptoms. Well, things seem better today, but it might be because I'm completely emptied out now. :-) It might be that I got glutened when I had a salad from a local restaurant.

Or maybe I'm reacting to Quest bars now. Hadn't had any for a few days, then I had one. Those things are evil in a convenient package. :-)

Dang, plantains have carbs. Well maybe a cheese crisp would do.

The best vehicle for guacamole IMO (and also for organic pate) is salty crunch PORK RINDS.

Seriously! Add a little shredded chili chicken or ground beef (and cheese/sour cream if you eat dairy - which I don't) and make a meal of it. Low carb 'faux' nachos.

MMMMMM

i love guacamole with crudites- bell peppers, mushrooms, carrots, grape tomatoes....but my favorite is just a plain half an avo with sea salt. the only vehicle you need is a spoon

I've done the vegetable thing with guacamole as well but I can easily overeat on the veggies for some reason which throws my carb count off.

I like a something a little acidic on avo. Mayo or lemon juice makes it come alive.
