I'm only two pounds away from goal, so I thought I'd write my success story.
Three years ago, I was around 125 (not bad for a 5'5" 30-something, but I always thought of myself as a bit heavy so I skipped meals and counted calories like crazy). After a trip abroad in the spring, I wound up packing on a good 30 pounds by the next spring. I didn't watch what I ate at all! I didn't even realize I was that big because I stayed off the scale. Exercise was non-existent.
Then, before I knew it, nothing fit. I had big "rolls" around my tummy and I won't even talk about my big ol' rear! I was incredibly uncomfortable and just miserable. I went to my doc for a checkup and I was 158!!
My doc recommended a low-carb diet. I tried it and failed. I tried low-cal with energy shots and failed. I tried another low-carb diet and lost a little, but I wasn't totally committed as I should have been. This pattern went on for a while.
This past spring, I was determined to make low-carb not a diet, but a lifestyle change for myself.
I also added VCO once a day and light cardio and Callanetics about 2-3 times a week.
And here I am! Back to 125 again--only this time I'm grateful to be here!
**The above story was from 2009.
Over the past 9 years I've gone off LC and back on LC & gotten up to the 130s (partly on purpose with lifting & then trying to peel it back off).
It's February 2018 & I'm 122.8 doing ZC. So, yay for that!
