Default One thing I disagree on!

Is the weekend portion. I am a firm believer of taking in huge amounts of carbs on day of the week, most notably on saturday. I think by eating and drinking (alcohol) on one day of the week gives a huge boost not only to maintaining the diet, but also giving a boost to the first day or two of the week in the gym. Following this regimen I have managed to loose 20 plus pounds of fat while increasing my strength drastically (without anabolics). For instance, my bench has shot up from 375 for 10, to 405 for 10, while decreasing my weight from 301, down to around 275. Everything else I agree on. Just wanted to throw in my two cents for what that is worth. To be honest there isn't a way for me to stay on the diet without atleast one trip to the Chinese buffet. The cardio part is an absolute must! Thanks.

fair warning to the women, even the weightlifters among us--CKDs don't work as well for females, from all the anecdotal evidence I've read. I say this lest wishful thinking send you to the buffet, too...

It doesn't matter which plan you are following, as long as you read the book, then keep it by you at all times until you have a thorough understanding of it. That means actually reading past the "Induction" or "How to Begin Low Carbing" part of the book.

I've read most of the Atkins books because most people here follow that plan and I want to be able to talk intelligently about it. In fact I've read most of the popular LC plans so I can understand what people are talking about.

This is the link to my story. It really needs to be updated!

And I asked myself, how did I get here?

Karen

Karen, I want to be just like you. I have read many articles supporting the low carb lifestyle. I have developed my own philosophy and I would like the ability to discuss all of the low carb plans, intelligently. If it were possible to earn a bachelor's degree in low carb nutrition, I would go for it. I have a problem though, not being prejudiced against other plans. It is hard not feeling like these are copy-cats of the original. But it is more important to support low carb and being a host of knowledge and not superstitious.

I like the term "Atkins Abuser." Think I'll add it to my lexicon! LOL!

"...now, all you ATKINS ABUSERS..."

Looks good. Whaddaya think?

I have a different term: half-asskins.

Half-Asskins: the regimen followed by an individual who modifies the Atkins Nutritional Approach with their own blend of rules, and tends to follow the plan only at certain times. For example, the individual who follows Atkins during the week, but eats pizza on the weekend.

I've been sad to notice that HUGE amount of folks on this site who think they can eat whatever they want as long as they keep to under 20 grms of carbs.... that is NOT what the book says at all!

I even know some Half-Asskins Abusers!!

You know the ones that binge on weekends, then wonder why they stall... then show up in the Tips And Stalls section, wondering about the fat Fast, because Atkins isn't "working"....

lol, I'm there stalling away because of those quick fix bars! If they weren't so spendy I'd dump them. Which would you say is the best meat for high protein and fat?
