Default this is WEIRD. Keto Oatmeal Problem.

Yesterday I bought Keto Hot Chocolate Mix and Keto Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal from Wegmans.

Well, I mixed a bowl of the oatmeal, and hated it with the water. So then I tried it dry with a little cream. I liked it. But I could not stop eating it for anything. I ate eight servings of it DRY (w/o cream even). And threw the rest away.

Does this sound like a food allergy to any of you? Do you think the wheat bran or the oats could have made my body respond strangely. Before my low carbing days I definitely used to binge on those packages of dry oatmeal.

Im thinking maybe I just need to steer clear of wheat and oats ENTIRELY!

(but I also go crazy with cheddar cheese, so maybe it's just me)

I agree. Replacing old high carb staples with LC frankenfoods is not a good idea, IMHO. You're just substituting one addiction for another. And sitting down to eat 8 servings of something definitely signals addiction, to me, anyway.

I'd stay clear of the oats/ wheats and the LC fake foods that replace them.

Yup, you're definitely addicted! Sounds like you need to avoid oatmeal forever. I love oatmeal (porridge, when I was growing up!) and I'm trying to imagine eating it dry.....

I agree that it's likely not the grains themselves that are the problem, rather the "copying" of a binge favorite can trigger the binge mechanism you're trying to avoid. I had to give up the lc breads for a LONG time before the pattern was broken. Now, after several MONTHS, I'm finally able to have ONE slice... so I'd say avoid them like the plague. Maybe someday you'll be able to incude them, but likely not anytime soon.
