Morning! I'm a bit clutzy on this site as it's massive.
I feel that I just ran into the shangri-la of low carb lifestylers. I've been spreading the message , handing out book for forty six years. I hope this gets posted, I have so much to talk about that I'm so anxious to share.

Welcome to the site There's all sorts of LC plans being followed here so it leads to some good discussions. I'm newer to LC, since April of this year, and am currently transitioning to a more carnivore way of eating.

Welcome to another veteran.

I've been following LC since Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution, 1972. I had just given birth in April and had a contract to play Maria in the German Premiere of West Side Story in the German language in Nuremberg in the Fall. The only way I was going to be able to play that role was to lose 30 pounds by September. Strict Atkins combined with 8-hour dance rehearsals 5 days a week enabled me to be ready for opening night, October 24, 1972.

Over my lifetime, I've continued using LCHF eating to control my weight. Not saying that I always stayed OP, but I never quite returned to my high set point weight of 170 pounds. Did I mention that I'm 62" tall?

Hi, Quentin! Welcome to the forum!

Looking forward to hearing more from you. Dr. Atkins saved my life! I strayed Off Plan many times in the past, but I always came back to Atkins. I know now this is my home.

I'm not exactly sure when I started, around 1980 give or take a couple of years. I didn't write it down on a calendar, or anything like that, and at first like many of us I drifted off and on the program. I think I've been strict keto without much variance since 2000 or so.

When I found out about Atkins I did research on the web, and found Atkins Induction is Ketogenic, and since I can't get past 20 cabs/day without gaining, I never got to Atkins Maintenance but stayed in induction or keto. (which is easier to type)

It's done wonders for me, and many others here judging by the posts.

Welcome to our discussion world, and as a long term Atkins person, I suspect you will have a lot to share with us.

Bob

Your measurements. You will enjoy going back and reading your journey.
