Soups
I adore soup, and I make it at home as often as possible. That also allows me to control what ingredients go into it, and I always substitute LC veggies for HC veggies and omit other things that are high carb (like sugar or flour).
However, if you are purchasing it, say in a can, you will need to read the label to see how many carbs are in it. Unfortunately, canned soups tend to be high in carbs because of all the extra stuff they add in.
If you are ordering it in a restaurant, it's a little more difficult, but you can always ask the waitress to find out for you exactly what is in the soup. When in doubt, avoid it or eat it at RM only.
If there are potatoes in the soup, even though you do not eat them, there is potato "essence" in the part you are eating, so you are still getting some carbs from that.
Hope this helps.
