Default One Year Later (after I started the LC WOE)

I am happy to report that after actually 14 months of the LC WOE, I am still at it. I didn't loose much over the winter but I didn't gain much either. Back on a rigorous regimen now, I intend to loose the other 35 lbs. before the end of fall.

Why is this a big deal to me? I'll tell you why. Having battled my weight for the past 25 years or so, this is not the first time I've lost a substantial amount of weight. However, it IS the first time I've been able to maintain the loss over a long period of time.

God bless Dr. Atkins and his family and I am so thankful that he blessed me by bucking the trends and publishing information that has helped changed my life!

Great job sticking to this way of eating! I think a lot of us lose more slowly or stall in the winter... some grizzly bear type thing. Spring will kick up your energy and resolve and I believe you will get to your goal!

Congratulations on all your success so far!

Thanks Angela. Looks like you've done well too. Congrats!

The thing that gets me all giddy is that I have once and for all found a WOE that not only works but that does not require me to starve myself. Always being hungry is not conducive to weight loss or maintenance. This WOE does not require me to be hungry during either mode.

BTW, here in West Texas where ranching is king, we call the weight gain over winter, "WINTERING UP". It refers to livestock that is usually fed cut hay or pellet feed during the months that grazing is not possible which many times results in weight gain. Not that I'm livestock or anything. :big grin:

Hey, that 'wintering up' thing makes sense, since cattle feed mostly on grain (carbs), right?

Hi Paul and congrats on your success so far. Maintenance is a key part of weight loss and now you know that you can do that. I wish you continued success. You sound like you have the right kind of attitude to persevere.

Congratulations on both your loss & your anniversary! You are proof this is not a diet, but a WOE & a WOL. Who could stick with a "diet" for 14 months, & even more amazing be satisfied with it? We have all been blessed by Dr Atkin's discoveries. I look forward to hearing from you in the fall when you've reached that goal & are still sticking with it! Good luck.
God Bless,
Amy-Lynne

I am always happy to see someone else benefit from LC eating! You must feel GREAT! Keep up the good work. Dr. Atkins taught me real balance in my diet and woke me up too!

PaulB! Glad to see that you're still around.

I do admire you for sticking with it, and can only pray I have the intestinal fortitude to follow in your footsteps as well! (Yes, pun intended!)

Thanks Karen and you bet I'm still around. Tammie and I did a photo expose of "How To Smoke A Brisket, Texas Style". I'll be posting it in the next couple of days.

And yes, LC with a vengence. This year, I hit my goal!

"How To Smoke A Brisket, Texas Style".

Great! I look forward to it!

I have to confess though. I didn't use my barbecue once last year. Maybe this will inspire me.

You better be using your Jalapeno Roaster or I'll be sorely dissapointed!

It's a big hit down here. My son made 100 of them while he was home from college and sold almost half of them. We've got people eating the LC way and they don't even know it!

And by the way, the oven is the best way to roast'em! (thanks for the idea!)

But of course I am! It doesn't require a barbecue.

I know! Isn't it fun to sneak lowcarb up on them?

Good on your son! I can see the jalepeno roasters in fine cookware shops all over the world...Better patent it!
