I see you are doing your own low carb plan. In this case, if adding coffee has not interfered with your weight loss, only you can decide if it is ok.

I quit coffee for 16 months. I have added 1 mug a day. no problems. I think Atkins suggests excessive caffeine is bad.
Personally It doesn't seem to affect my weight loss.

When I stalled awhile back I eliminated caffeine, didn't make a difference. I'm back to losing now, and drinking my one mug a day with cream and Stevia.

I've been drinking coffee from day one of Atkins, and it hasn't hurt me yet.
Strait black coffee, not decaf, no sugar, no splenda, no cream. Just coffee. About 40oz a day.

Coffee does have carbs, so if you are counting them, add them to your total. I also drink about 4 liters of water a day, sometimes more.

One thing I read as to the reasons why you should cut out coffee is because the caffeine can cause carb cravings. I have never given it up and never will. I quit smoking and have cut out junk food and my fave potato chips.... I will not give up coffee too. As far as I can tell the coffee doesn't affect my weight loss.... and I have it with cream and artificial sweetener. I say go for it and enjoy!
