Question Best time for weigh in?

What is the best time to do your weigh in? First thing in the morning before you eat or at the end of the day? Or does it matter as long as you weigh yourself at the same time at every weigh in? (just wondering cause I know at the end of the day you are heavier.) Is it the same for your measurements?

It matters more that you weigh yourself at the same time each day. However, most people do weigh less first thing in the morning.

Definately weighing in at the same time each day is important. However, I weight in first thing in the morning. B4, I've ate or drank anything... I've even started scheduling all doctor's appointments first thing in the morning.

First thing in the morning for me. After I've used the bathroom of course and before eating or drinking anything. I weigh less at 7am than I do at 5pm, so morning IS BEST!

Lily

I don't do measurement can't help you on that one. Sorry!

weigh in at home once a week in the morning, just so it's consitant. Weigh and measure at the gym once a month in the evenings, again so it's consitant. I don't think it really matters that much as long as you are consitant. But keep in mind anything you eat can add to your weight until it is fully digested so my suggestion would be morning weigh in before eating or drinking anything.

I weigh myself about 20 minutes after I wake up before I eat.

I only weigh myself if I feel as though I have lost something. The last time was after a big meal. I don't think you need a scale if you go by how you feel. I can carry 190 pretty good on my frame, but I want to see how 165 feels, and since I walk a lot, I want to get as much weight off my knees as possible.

I guess I am the exception. I feel I have to weigh myself almost daily - otherwize I won't keep to it, and get scared of gain again. After the first 15 pounds were gone, most clothes fit loosely, so that was no measure. Early on, when I had just started phase II, it was clear I was doing to many new carbi allowed veggies, and I gained again - then I went back to phase I, and lost it right away again. But without daily weigh-ins, I might have thought I am doing fine one phase II and gained more. Because Atkins is a bit more strict it might not be an issue, but South beach is flexible - one is just supposed to introduce allowed carbs gradually, and that is hard to gage for me without daily weigh-ins.

I measure the same time as I weight on thursday I was doing it monthly (first thuesday every month) but have since started weight training and desided I wanted to see the inches lost every week since my weight loss was gonna slow lol

I'm a daily weigher too! It keeps my motivation going somehow, and it also lets me monitor if things are working/stalling me etc.
Always do it in the morings - I can put on 3-4 pounds over the day!

I weigh pretty much every day, but I change my forum stats only once per week (if there's a change ). I do it, like most people it seems, first thing in the morning after a full night's sleep, after going p, naked, before eating or drinking anything.

Do NOT weigh yourself right before TOM It's depressing for me and I just skip that week and get a nice surprise the next week

As for measuring, I do that when I'm feeling skinnier and/or every couple of weeks. My inches lost seem to keep pace with the pounds lost (ie I've lost over 20 inches and 26 lbs so far!).

I weigh myself everyday in the morning right before I get in the shower. I tried to not weight myself everyday but it was too hard! It keeps me motivated.

I am a daily weigher but I change my stats when the scale goes below my last loss. So when my weight goes below 136 lbs, I will change my stats.
