It was quite a while for me. I have to lose about 20 pounds before it really shows, then it looks like it all falls off at once. Then everyone thinks I'm doing a crash diet. Then I lose another 20 and it shows again. I've always been this way.

When I first started, it took about 40 lbs before it was noticed....at your starting weight, people should see a difference in 20 lbs!!

About 6 days in for me. My tummy went from bloated and fat to flat. I lose weight from there first. For other things like my skin and strong white nails (they were yellow and chipping before) it took a month or so.

I'm another one of the 20-pounders... People tend to notice in 20-pound increments on me. So they REALLY have been noticing regularly lately, but I probably won't get much more commenting until I'm down to 160... At 140 I can wear anything I want again, and at 120 I'm bikini-weight. So maybe there IS something to that 20-pound thing.

I'm not sure, because I think the people who KNEW I was trying to lose weight were just saying it either to be nice, or because they subliminally made themself think I looked different even if I didnt. Am I over analyzing this?

Even now some people have never mentioned anything!

But I think at about 10-15 down people commented...about the weight loss visible in my face and about 20 the change in my body.

People noticed at 20-30lb if I recall correctly. For a year I stuck around 215-220 and it was like every week someone else would be like wow your losing weight ... and I'm like ugh I've been stuck for awhile. It was kinda motivational, but sometimes uncomfortable since nearly all of my coworkers are quite overweight. I feel they secretly want me to fail.

Honestly (to me) it's not about how other people notice changes, if they like me losing/gaining. I'm not doing this for anyone else except myself.

Weirdly, several of my co-workers said they noticed I was slimming down today. It's been a few inches, but they said it was noticable. Maybe its because I have an hourglass shape, I donno. One of my co-workers is very overweight and she says she's hyper-observant about weight stuff. She complimented me and said she was proud of me. And I know she sincerely is.

The fiance poked my side last night and said, "Less poofy. Keep it up." Damn stoic Germans

I was curious about how long it takes for people to notice because my mind plays tricks on me and I honestly have to depend on other people to give me an "accurate" view. I can look in the mirror and be ten pounds down and look fifty up.

I am really fighting with my brain on this. But I'm determined to win.
