The DV for magnesium is 400 milligrams (mg). The percent DV (%DV) listed on the nutrition facts panel of food labels tells adults what percentage of the DV is provided by one serving. Even foods that provide lower percentages of the DV

Wow... 3 oz of sprouts. That's a lot of sprouts. I think my enormous salads are around 3 oz of lettuce and it is a large bowl packed with lettuce.

In their book Protein Power Lifeplan the Drs. Eades have a whole chapter on magnesium. In fact they even go so far as to say if they were asked, "What ONE supplement would you recomend?", they answered unequivically, "Magnesium." For just under ten dollors for the paperback, it is a book that you should have in your library of low-carb books. They used over 400 scientific papers from the best journals in writing their book. The science behind their diet recomendations is probably the best you can get today. Maybe Dr. Rosedale will surpass them, but then he was an associate in their clinic in Boulder, and has, I think taken over that clinic. The Eades seem to have retired from direct medical practice to concentrate on other things like their lowcarbcookworks.

Do you know about

Don't OD on magnesium though. I'm here to tell you, you'll get miserable diarrhea! However, it is great for getting things going if you're blocked up. In fact, that's all that Milk of Magnesia is.

Actually Gina, many believe that the reason why pregnant women crave things like chocolate, pickles, and sometimes even dirt is because of some vitamin or mineral deficiency. So....maybe you're not far off!

Default Eades and Rosedale

regarding the Eades and Rosedale. The Eades start was weight loss Doctors, and promoted a high protein diet. They learned a lot through Dr Rosedale, and only after did they talk about other diseases as before their only focus was obesity. In their joint clinic it was Dr. Rosedale that ran the medical side the Eades could not treat the major diseases. They did share studies, but it was Dr Rosedale that integrated many studies to reach a greater understanding. They are all wonderful people. However, Dr Rosedale never 'worked' for them but with them for the greater good.

After a diagnosis of pre-diabetes, I began doing some detective work and discovered magnesium. Not that I had not heard of it but I had been totally ignorant of its valute to our health. It has many complex "jobs" in the human body namely balancing insulin and glucose levels. A magnesium shortage can indeed cause diabetes. Magnesium is particulaly low in premenopausal women and is among the most widespread deficient nutrients in the country. Well, I began using supplemental magnesium and I began consuming more foods high in magnesium. My insulin/glucose levels have become, for the most part, exemplary. After experiencing this, I am sure that whatever magnesium is supposed to do, it will work if sufficient amounts of absorbable magnesium are consumed.
