Hah! It sure looks like it. But they owe it to their stockholders to try low carb. This morning pre-market WTW is 18.55. I expect if this news gets picked up by Wall Street that WTW will be back up to 25, maybe even 30, in no time.

This was posted on the Obesity Code Network page if you want to read the reactions, basically it was...how can they charge members for this when there is so much already FREE on-line?

"Turns your body into a Fat-Burning machine?" How original...Lifted wholesale from most every Keto website. If not from the original Atkins book. A little late to the party. And what about those women I know who have been faithfully counting points or whatever for 30 years, being told Atkins was dangerous. They might be a tad skeptical.

Jeez, can't even trust test market subjects not to leak.

I'm no WW fan (never been to a meeting, never joined), but there are other organizations that are charging for low-carb diet support (Virta, DietDoctor, IDM), so why not WW? There's plenty of free stuff available for traditional calorie-restricted diets like WW, as well. But regardless of the diet, some people find they do better with the additional support that they get with a paid service.

I'd like to see support for WW as they encourage people to switch to healthier, more sustainable low-carb diets, instead of their traditional plan. This must be a hard move for them and they're coming to it late. But at least they're doing it (or it appears that way from the ad--maybe it's a test or a fake). Millions of people respect WW and their advice. I'd rather see this as an opportunity to reach those people and support low-carb going mainstream, rather than just bash WW over their past.

Another person on the OCN thread stated she received the same test market email survey. WW stated is looking for ways to "personalize" their existing offerings. This "could" be one option, but it is going to be hard to turn this ship around.

From a completely objective perspective, what would the actions be that would salvage this sinking ship? Of course, the most dependable WOE to achieve health while needing the fewest supplements to maintain health: Low Carb. Now, how do these passengers grab on to a viable life boat? Create some unique new names and terms and re-release the message. Don't ever be accused of selling out and going overt low carb at any cost.

Actually, this is how it is supposed to work. Institutions are supposed to listen to the ones they "serve."

Exactly, and if I paid for a service and realized the service was not doing anything for me that I couldn't do myself, I'd stop that service in a heart beat.

Having followed WW in the past and now Atkins, I can see a big overlap encouraging whole, healthy foods and portion control. I believe WW could offer an alternative plan where members could count carb points and follow portion limits for certain "free" foods and have better success. I don't think WW will ever do that, though, for their own reasons which I believe are less than altruistic.

But if WW embraced Keto, they could sell Keto protein powders, bars, MCT oils, and all those products many others companies have already monetized.

Stock had another big drop Thursday as JP Morgan lowered their price target even further. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/w...rish-2019-04-11

Yes! They'll have to come up with a new name for their keto line so that the new products won't be confused with their low-fat/low-calorie products. Unfortunately for WW, the race is already on to get new keto frozen and snack foods to market and Conagra and Unilever have a huge head start. My guess is WW will end up buying an upscale paleo startup and base their new line on "no fake food," downplaying the higher fat/lower carb aspect. At first. But dairy will be added, and the carb contents will continue to be brought down subtly and then gradually a dessert line will be introduced that'll be full of fake sugar. We'll see. It'll sure be interesting to watch.

I sure hope they don't try doing some type of hybrid of low-fat with low-carb.
I just can't imagine them allowing cream or real butter.
It's definitely going to take some retraining on their part to be successful, if they do it!

They can call it WW-kins and claim that the hair loss is the body's way of cleansing itself.
