Default Diet Pop...

In CAD, they say diet pop is fine...but I have seen many people mention that you can only have diet pop during your reward meal? Is it not O.K. on CALP?

In CALP the Hellers talk about the fact that if something tastes sweet, your body will react as if it is...so diet sweetener or not, your body may react as if you had a sugar sweetened soda and release insulin. (page 59 of the CALP book)

I have noticed that weight loss slows if I drink diet pop. But I still have them sometimes, but have cut back a lot.

I try to save it for my reward meals just to keep my overall soda intake low. When I feel like having a soda outside of my RM it reminds me that I probably haven't had enough water so I chug a whole bunch of water and if I still want something to drink I'll have iced tea. I like Shwarzbein's method of cutting back on stimulants one by one. I was drinking way too much diet soda on other low carb plans.

I have tried to drink club soda and it details me more than diet pop. I think it may be sodium

I have only had 2 diet cokes since Dec 31st.....and tonight a diet sprite.

Don't miss the pop as much as I thought I would....

This is a major accomplishment for me. Breakthrough.
