Default There and back Again, Megg's Tale

Introduction: I am 33 years old and can barely walk. I get winded walking down the hall at home, so I have decided to start moving more... I am taking things VERY slow to make sure this becomes a habit and that I can stick with it.

Goals:
June - 100 Jacks 5 days a week
July - 140 Jacks 5 days a week
Aug - 150 Jacks 5 days a week
Sept - 200 Jacks 5 days a week
Oct - 230 Jacks 5 days a week
Nov - 260 Jacks 5 days a week
Dec - 300 Jacks 5 days a week

* Jacks = modified jumping jacks (no strain on knees)

Whoa, you are jumping right in there! Congrats on finding the will to do this!

100 jacks seems like a lot, if you get winded walking down the hall, though...please don't push yourself too hard at first. You will build up quickly

Best of luck on reaching your fitness goals!

100 Jacks Done!

gonwtwindo - Thank you for the reply. I am doing 20 "modified" jumping jacks 5 times during the day, for a total of 100 jacks. I have a VERY sedentary job and I work nights by myself so I stand up by my desk and do this every hour and a half, then I sit down, catch my breath and go about my day.

All I can say is thank goodness I work by myself, I look rediculous doing these but I don't let that stop me.

I'm on my way......

100 Jacks done!

Feeling pretty good about doing them. Gets my heart rate going (and wakes me up) and it's better then not moving at all.

100 Jacks done!

Today it's just a headache not a migrane, so was easier. Had trouble finding time to do the jacks. My one day out of the month I'm busy at work..... But I got them done. I am starting to really feel the jacks in my legs, so I think they are working.

100 Jacks done!

5 days in a row. I'm proud of myself. I only hope I can stick with it and make this a habit.

I feel pretty good, legs are a bit tight, I can feel where the muscles worked so thats good. I'm looking forward to my 2 days off (both from work and jacks )

Well had my 2 days off, wont say they were nice since was one of those crazy couple days with everything going wrong. But was glad to get back to it tonight.

100 Jacks Done!!

Starting to think I may need to increase before the end of the month but will definately wait at least another week as it's ToM and I don't have the energy to increase right now.

Also finding that doing the jacks at work really helps break up my shift and makes it seem to go faster. Who knew exercise could be good for your job?

100 Jacks done!

tried to increase the intensity of my jacks today. Looking back may not be the best idea during ToM, I'm exausted now. Live and learn right?

100 jacks done!

that makes 2 weeks I have done my jacks, or 1000 jacks total! Next week I think I will increase and do 140 a day. not so out of breath doing these anymore so figure I should increase and get that way again.

You're doing great! It does make a world of difference once you find exercise you like, but you seem to be doing good on your JJ routine.
