Thumbs up READING DR. ATKINS NEW BOOK

Can anyone tell me if there is a site on the net for a list of low glycimic index foods? I really love his new book. This is the first time I realy got into it.

I don't know for sure if there is an index, but you could try searching here, using: Low Glycemic Foods.

Also....have you tried using google.com for the same search?

There is, but it is by no means comprehensive. Only certain foods have been tested so far.

The last time I looked for it, I used Google and typed in glycemic index.

Default thanks

Karen and Marlaine, thanks for the replies and where to look. I was reading it in dr. Atkins new book and my doctor was talking about it. I searched last night and found a program called nutrition.exe at "http://www. self-realization.com" It has a free share ware and looking at the foods on Atkins are all low on the gycelmic index list.

Thanks again, and have a wonderful day.

I site that I have found very informative is:

http://www.mendosa.com/gilists.htm

The guy who maintains it is a nutrition writer who keeps in direct contact with several glycemic index researchers. He also has additional sites with lots of information about the glycemic index (the one I gave you is just a long list of values for foods). Follow his links, he has done a lot of reading and research in this area. (He's also very friendly and answers his e-mail ).

Thank you Allison,
I went to he site and found it very interesting. I really think that this gylcemic index has some merit because I have notice eating certain food and right after I can feel the surge of sugar( I feel warmer). I am going to more research on it and let you know what happens.
