Thumbs up Blood Test Numbers

I read Dr Atkins' book and did the blood test before I started my diet in June; and I got a second test done after starting Atkins in August. There was some noticeable difference so I thought I will share this with you. Please keep in mind I have no clue what some of this numbers meant. I just look for my liver enzymes and Chloresterol.

Original Test Date: May 30, 2001
AST - 66
Gamma GT - 142
Cholesterol - 7.37
Triglyceride - 3.82
VLDL Cholesterol - 1.76
HDL Cholesterol - 1.36
Ratio T Chol:HDL - 5.42
LDL Cholesterol - 4.27

Second Test Date: August 22, 2001
AST - 21 (*)
Gamma GT - 67 (*)
Cholesterol - 6.89
Triglyceride - 2.73
VLDL Cholesterol - 1.26
HDL Cholesterol - 1.56
Ratio T Chol:HDL - 4.42
LDL Cholesterol - 4.09

(*) much improved!
For those medically minded, you comments on the above is greatly appreciated.

Well, I can tell you that the things that should have gone down (LDL, triglycerides and cholesterol) did and the HDL improved and to quote Martha "That's a good thing"

I'll let the experts dissect more
