bc pills and weight gain?

I'm thinking of starting birth control pills, for the obvious reason, as well as the fact that my face is broken out like a teenager (I'm 35!) and the prescription I have is for a pill that is supposed to clear up acne. But I haven't filled the prescription yet because I'm afraid it will make me gain weight. Anyone have experience with this, or advice? (I'm married, by the way, and not planning to have kids.)
