We're doing a deboned turkey cooked over cornbread dressing (it comes out SO moist cooked that way) giblet gravy, mashed rutabagas, mashed potatoes (for everyone else, lol), green beans and homemade sugar free cranberry sauce. I'm looking forward to some TURKEY!

I like the idea of sugar free cranberry sausce. Will have to look for a recipe. How do rutabagas taste? How do you fix them?

I'm making Cornish Game hens as I'm sick of turkey. I do them in my sous vide and then brown them under the broiler and make a sauce from their juices.

I'll also have a SF cranberry sauce, Coconut Cranberry bread (in cooking forum), maybe a salad, broccoli yum.

Gotta think of some sort of dessert.

Bought my turkey today. 48 cents a pound if you spent 25.00 at Wegmans. Going to check for that coconut cranberry bread.

My new favorite thing on the planet is roasted garlic mashed cauliflower and I will be bringing it to two houses on Turkey day! It combines roasted cauliflower with roasted garlic into a delicious puree.
I am also thinking about making a sausage-mushroom dressing. Though deviled eggs sound like a great idea too!

Sorry, didn't see your reply until now!

Mashed rutabagas are kind of peppery. My family has always had them at Thanksgiving, so we all love them, but my hubby's family doesn't care for them. They are low carb, which is great for me because they've always been one of my Thanksgiving favorites! To make them, you just peel and chop up rutabagas and boil them until tender, then mash with butter like you would potatoes. They are harder to peel and chop that potatoes and also take longer to cook, but I think they're worth it!

SF Cranberries are so easy they don't really require a recipe. Just cook fresh cranberries with about a cup of water and sweetener to taste. I usually use about a cup equivalent.

You can add orange liqueur like Triple Sec, or Grand Mariner, but that adds some sugar to it. Cloves are good too. You could add orange peel.

I bought my turkey today. I choose the organic farm raised brand with -no solutions added. I had to pay a lot more money but it was worth the peace of mind that I won't get an msg reaction with it.

At my Moms, were doing soups. Mom is making Chilli and Potatoe soup and I am making a Creamy Taco soup. I made it for a family event a month ago and it went over fairly well. I was surprised at how many people wouldn't try the soup though, just because it was something new.

My Aunts house is the usualy dried out turkey, some pressed ham and everything carb filled they can muster. I was told to bring the relish tray, hum, I may eat before and after

It hasn't been descided yet, but we may do something for BF's side. I have a pressed ham (I won't touch the stuff) and a turkey, I'm good

As usual, I am hosting. So yes I will be serving stuff like stuffing and mashed potatoes. I'm going to roast up a nice tray of cauli and broc. Would love to hear some suggestions for easy LC sides or apps. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Melissa Joulwan posted ten Thanksgiving sides here:
http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.co...ksgiving-sides/

Has added some more recipes since that date so check out the more recent blog posts. For cranberry sauce use Laura Dolson's recipes with Stevia.
