Default Diet Rite shows up at last in BC

DietRite (3 fruity flavours, I snatched up Orange) with Splenda has showed up at last here in BC.

Found the Orange Crush (if you're brand-specific) with Splenda recently, too.

ALL at Real Canadian Superstore (related to Dominion & Loblaws).

It's been in BC since at least last summer...but I am glad you finally found it! Do you find that the drinks made with splenda are actually sweeter tasting than the ones made with Aspartame? I do and it's hard to get used to cuz it's almost too sweet... an effect of l/c I guess!!

Not in MY stores...but we're backward here on the Island

Yeah, they do seem a touch sweeter, but I thought it was because there actually seem to be fewer bubbles ...it would be easier to make a comparison if I had a Splenda sweetened drink that I'm accustomed to, such as a Fresca with Splenda, though. I'm not sure if it's the brand or the sweetener change at this point (I've had the US Diet Rite and it always seemed sweeter).

I'll have to go check out Superstore - I hardly ever go there because - well let's just say it's DIRTY..... I guess if I washed the container it might be ok....

My daughter used to kinda laugh at me. I wash all drink containers before I drink out of them. I even wash can tops off before I open them. (You ever notice how sometimes that just cut lid will fall in? I worked at a grocery store. Those cans were used for seats, stools or ashtrays. Not to mention the critters that crawl on them *shudder*)

If I didn't learn anything else about cooking and kitcheny stuff from my mom, I DID learn to always wash containers before I open them! As she said, and Teresa just agreed with her, you don't know what condition they've been kept in before they get to you - either critters, or pesticides to control the critters at the very least. Not to mention the dust they pick up at home while stored.

As far as Superstore, I've never been to the one here - it's so far out of town, and the price of gas these days, I figure it adds about $10 to my bill just to get there and back!

Heads up!

Just spotted Orange C-Plus with a Splenda logo on it (yeah, I know it's not DietRite) at Thrifty Foods of all places. Bout time.

Anybody that wants orange, well, it'll save a trip to the Superstore!

BTW, I've been washing sprouts for years (and the Chef Instructors at Culinary school thought it very strange, but then gave their heads a collective shake and said, what a good idea!) but it never occurred to me about cans and bottles. Though I am known to open them from the bottom, cuz the tops are usually dusty. Good thinking, ladies! I'll mend my ways henceforth.
