Still been gymming, not been posting much.

I've it an interesting snag. I'm really battling to maintain the high pulse rates at gym now. My legs get SORE!

I am speculating that as my cardio fitness improves, I need to do more and more work to get my pulse up to the same rate as I did before - and am hitting the limits of my muscles now, instead of cardio limits.

I guess there's nothing for it but to grit my teeth and carry on - or is it worth lowering the heart rate targets somewhat?

Do you do sprints? that's what I do. I will sprint for 30 sec. and then jump off for 30 seconds. and go faster and faster. you can also increase the incline.

Changed routine yesterday - did much longer on the orbital (40 min) at 155, then 15 minutes on the steps also at 155. Didn't hurt as much this time - so I guess variery is good. over 800 Cal burned!

Last session had an average heart rate of 152 over an hour...

And relative VO2 max has moved up to 34...
