Lightbulb Macadamia Nut Question!

Please can someone help. In the Carb counter section of DANDR it says that without the fibre, 2 tbsp of macadamia nuts = .8 carbs. I assumed 2 tablespoons to be say 8 - 10 nuts BUT, now I am reading in Dr Atkins recipe book, 8ish nuts = 4 gms carb!!!! It also says 4 grams on FitDay for 8 nuts. Can anyone enlighten me here. I have been using them as an afternoon snack, last couple of weeks, but I wouldn't have if I thought they had 4 carbs, plus came to a grinding halt on the weight loss last week, and wonder if the nuts were the culprit ?

Does anyone out there know the truth

If you have the older edtion of Atkins cookbook (yellow cover), the counts listed are total carbs - the fiber hasn't been subtracted.

According to our Carb Counter tool, which is based on the USDA, 1 oz (10 - 12 whole nuts) of macadamias has 3.9g carbs / 2.4g fiber ... so 1.5g net.

hth,

Doreen

Thankyou all for your info, will leave the nuts well alone for now, just don't need anything to rock the boat at the moment!!

Keisha.

I can't eat nuts either, no matter what the carb count. They stall me like crazy!
Too bad, too, because i love them. but we live and learn what we CAN do and what we can't.
Keep up the good work,
Lesle
