Default In the 3rd week doldrums....

I am in the 3rd week doldrums, still measuring my foods and staying between 20 - 23 carbs per day, and drinking well over 3 litres per day, but I am one of the many we have stopped loosing in my 3rd week.

I know it will get better, and I will lose the wieght, I just need to hear that I will.

Also I haven't fit exercising into my schedule, as my work day is pretty well packed into the 5:45 am to 6:00 pm slot, I am I pretty active at work most days, lifting, picking, sorting etc.

I am wondering does the weight loss pick up again in week 3 or week 5 for most people?

Scruffy - Hang in there! I stayed the same this week after three good induction weeks. But I have done this before and lost 43 pounds. It will pick up but it is definitely a rollar coaster ride and that can be very hard to adjust to. It is helpful to remember that we gain weight in the same way. It is not a smooth gain but in jumps and starts. The body works the same way when losing. Keep up the fabulous work and you will see that weight come down! Orchid

My body tends to gain in 15 - 20 lbs at a time, what has happended in the past, as recently as Nov - Dec 2003 I would get hungry all the time, weather I ate or not, I felt compelled to eat, but in that last hunger thing I didn't give in and still gained 15 lbs in just over 4 weeks.

With nothing to special being eaten, no binges, no all out eating at any time of the day etc. My body just seems to gain very fast and then stay the same weight for about 2 - 3 years, and then go throught the same weight gain in a 4 - 5 week span, sure I gain weight like maybe 5 pounds in 6 months, but them sometimes is just goes into hyper speed gain, and there is nothing I can do it seems.

When I was pregnant I only gained 24 lbs in 9 months, because I was already overweight, and then lost it a couple of days after I gave birth, it was all baby and water etc.

I seem to gain weight in spurts and sputs, I don't know of anyone else who does? My mom thinks their might be thyroid problems behind this problem, but induction was a great, and I hope that the weight loss will pick up again, I have am being very strick with my carb intake.

I plan to stick to this, as I read how much success everyone here has had, and I want to be a Loser as well, and not a Gainer (heheheh).

Just a tip, try to up your water intake even more if you can. Hang in there, you WILL lose eventually.
