Default Hello/I am in love!

Hello,
I am in love because I found this site!

Sunday 10/22/19 I embarked upon the journey to change my life and am starting with my WOE. I had done Atkins starting in the fall of 2002 until sometime in summer 2006 when my job changed and hours through me for a loop and I took the easier/softer path of no longer preparing my own meals/shopping. Of course, I regained the weight + 25 lbs.

I was not on any meds before but am on BP pills now and want to go back to no pills (using Atkins and Dr monitoring).

Fast forward to now, I set about grocery shopping for basics, got out my DANDR and at the end of the first week I decided I need to support he suggests. My previous support group apparently closed down in 2018 ...so I went to Atkins site. For the last 3 days I have tried to understand and adjust to new guidelines and what was being professed ...needless to say I went to bed last night concerned about the changes in the plan (too many to list but some of you likely know what I mean) I felt like I was 'doing it wrong' when DANDR says otherwise.

I am in love with this site and look forward to meeting you!

I love you, too!!

A warm welcome, I’m glad you found us. There isn’t a HUGE bastion of folks in here these days, but they are all kind, friendly, and exceedingly knowledgeable.

Suggest you start a journal. It’s kind of our “soup can and string” way we go about chatting with each other.

Best wishes for success on your journey.

Welcome, Kate!

I too love this place. While not all areas are active, there are always daily postings in Journals and other sections.

Many people have been here a long time, lots of shared experience, inspiration and wisdom here.

Welcome, Kate.

I remember first finding this forum back in early 2016 and being impressed with its history and its staying power. It was perhaps slightly busier back then, but there's still a number of us around, and it sounds like you're already as appreciative of this place now as I was back in the day.

Make yourself comfortable, have a look around the various sections, ask whatever you like, maybe start a journal at some point if you feel it will help.

Good luck!

Thank all for the warm welcome!
I do keep a journal in a traditional Day at a Glance book however it sounds like there is a Journal place in this site? I have not located- is it: My P.L.A.N. (?) - for postings in Journals ?-
Also, I have seen some Dr Westman on youtube and will be glad to look for that thread as well!
Wising everyone a great day!

Welcome to the group! Like others have said, it's not super active but there are a a handful of regulars who post/interact daily and they're the nicest, most genuine people I've been a part of a LOT of different forums, food/diet related, and this is by far the nicest and most drama free place I've found.

This should bring you to the journal section, you can just start a new thread and get started with yours

To make a journal of your own, go to the journal/bootcamp section. Have a title in mind. Check other journals for title ideas.

Second sticky has instructions. The test area is at the bottom of all the sections.

TY! TY! First Journal entry made.
'The test area is at the bottom of all the sections.' - not sure what this means, please. Preview Post'?
When 'going advanced' do the icons show as you type or only once posted?
Testing here:

not sure how to insert icons; they're not showing up on my side.

when writing your entry, look below box for "go advanced" , click. Another box pops up, with smileys to the right. Under smilies is a link to more smilies.

put blinking cursor where you want smilie, then click on desired smilie.
