Angry Mad at Myself - Back on Induction!

For months I was eating (and bragging about eating) low carb, sugar free ice cream almost every evening. I continued to lose *most* weeks, but only at a rate of 1-2 lbs. I thought, "wow, this is GREAT!" This yummy dessert was my *reward* for sticking to this WOE.

Well, the scale hasn't budged in 3 weeks. This is my first *official* stall, and I am fairly sure what the culprit is. It has just taken a while to catch up with me.

I pulled out the dusty ol' Ketostiks and confirmed that I am no longer in ketosis (duh), and probably haven't been for quite a while.

Soooo, back on induction for me... no more ice cream rewards until the scale begins to move again -- and when it does, it will be an infrequent treat. Eating it almost every evening was a flashback of my *former* bad habit of snacking in front of the TV.

Whew, I am so glad I came to my senses before the scale began an incline.

Glad to hear your back on induction - I had to do the same thing -- I was very bad over the summer, but glad to say I'm totally back on track, in fact, this morning down 1.5#.

Vikki

PS: Just read the Pilot's speech on your website - very very powerful indeed!

Thanks Ian and Vikki -- I've given my DH permission to kick my butt if he sees me in the freezer.

Vikki: It's a rare thing that something that profound gets circulated on the Internet. Glad you were inspired by it.

Glad you got back also.
I dont post here as often As i should. That might help. I post mosty to another site. for i hate having to resign up on here.
Will. Two weeks ago. i went off Big time and i paid for it. 7lbs But have lost 5 of the 7lbs.
I was to start tom then and was so having junk and more carbs then i should have . I dint have my Tom but i did on Oct2. so that has helped.
Iam back in induction and 20 carbs.or lower.
Iam still losing SLOW with this.
The last 3 weeks and today have thought I will just do another low car, and keep carbs low and do maybe curves diet. that is in there book and see. Then say to self. will just wait till NOv. 1st and see what comes off. or maybe take to 1st. ofthe year.
Does any one else that has a slow weight loss feel like that??
Iam almost in 8 p. jeans. another 10lbs should do it.
i have to get 8 glasses of water down to and KEEP exersicing. that might help to.
Will just wanted to say hello to all and i should go to chat in fact will go there now.
Please tell me to keep going and it will move down.
Dont say this is way of life. we all know that. But u all can not say that u didnt do atkins or doing it now to NOT LOSE alot of wt. then we can maintain and see if low carbing is for us.
i know low carbing. is for me. just dont know if atkins is it. i might feel diff. when i see 5-1olb off by Nov. that will help. any one just watching DR> Phil and his weight loss group??Iam just to see how many will make it. by next year.

Dr Phil... at least someone ELSE brought it up this time! <giggle> I get teased a bit for preaching Dr Phil, but his book is really helping me stop the bad habits that are causing me so much grief!

I always admired Dr. Phil's bluntness and reality-check advice. But, he's gone too commercial with his new line of diet products (geez, everyone's on the bandwagon).

Thanks y'all...

I agree about the diet products. I don't think it's really necessary, but wonder how much profit HE really sees on them. My bet is he gets a pretty pennny for letting them put his picture on them...

Otherwise, the program may be over-produced, but the content is solid. The book has translated the "psych-babble" of others I've waded through into plain English, with a style that cuts to the chase.

Well I just discovered the Chapmans N/S ice cream a few weeks ago, Wow is it good, however, it still has carbs, so I go very easy on it.
But boy I can understand those who can't walk from the temptation!!
Good you caught yourself 8>) It's too bad they don't come in 1/2 cup size eh?

Cheers Kathy

Glad you are losing again. I have been a long stall; I call it my summertime stall. Have lost a pound or two in October.
