Default chana dal

I searched for this before starting the thread, and got no results. If somebody has already addressed chana dal, please let me know.

I was reading David Mendoza's article about this bean. He claims that it has an extremely low glycemic index and that he's been eating it for years.

Has anybody else with Type 2 used this product and stayed in ketosis, and do you have a favorite recipe or cooking method?

Thanks.

I always thought they were just yellow split peas, but apparently it is a type of chickpea. Go for it! Do you have a glucose or blood/breath ketone monitor?

I find that too many legumes make me achy, but maybe if I soaked them 24 hours first it'd be okay.

According to Mendoza, yellow split peas so mushy, and a I need to be certain I'm not being sold a substitute. Only the actual beans are low glycemic load.

Once I get back into ketosis, I'll start the experiment. I found some Bob's Red Mill chana dal on amazon. I quit taking my BG when my readings got wonky. ( I took readings 1 minute apart from the same stick and got a wide range of numbers.) Now I can't remember where I put my BG meter.

Could it be the strips were old? I had so many BG meters laying around, I finally got rid of a few.
